Seriously, you need to put the bong down dude. Time and again you have made a total asshat out of yourself in this thread.

    1. Notice the two quotes I posted here. You claim I didn't say when I'd be feeding them (underlined in your quote), yet in my post #6 (quoted above and highlighted in bold) I clearly said they would be used over winter through early spring. That was two posts before your post. I think you were so riled up and anxious to troll that you didn't read closely enough.

    2. Your insistence that I or anyone that utilizes management to grow better deer are lazy (inferred) or are not "real" hunters is the most asinine claim you've made to date. Would I want to come to Florida and hunt public land...eff no...why would I want to hunt public land at all...could I do it...I have no doubt given some time to acclimate to being brought across country and into a different climate, I would still be fine.

I agree you'd probably best leave the thread for good before you get yourself in serious trouble for trolling.

Some where there is a guy that hunts with a long bow that is saying using that Bow Tech RPM 360 isn't really hunting...that is stupid too.

I'm obviously messing with a highly skilled forum warrior, I'll see my way out the door before I get a warning on an internet forum community site, Let me go pick up my bong this is to much to handle.

Best of luck to you hunting in the petting zoo.

I received a reply from Sportsman's Choice (Record Rack) a while ago about what they use for the protein ingredients:

"Soybean meal, sun meal, linseed meal, and canola meal are our main sources of protein as well as pure lysine because it is the first limiting amino acid that makes up protein. Deer are efficient at recycling nitrogen but energy tends to be the most limiting nutrient. The Record Rack pellets will provide both good sources of protein and energy. "

I've not gotten a reply from Purina Mills yet.

Wow this thread got out of hand pretty quickly.

We use a mix of corn and record rack at our place.

    Lol.

Should we ban Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady from the NFL because it's unfair to the competition?

Nothing screams envy like blasting another hunters legal methods of killing deer. If you hunted where they did, you would have the same options available to you, whether you choose to take them, that's called preference. And we all have our own.

Awesome setup! This is amazing conservation and wonderful for your entire deer population not just what you harvest. Where do you pick up the boss buck feeders at? I've been checking feeders in general and picking up within the next week.

I'm having a hard time understanding how putting in work to hunt, food plots &feeders and the like, is less sportsman like? Improving your odds has been happening since cavemen.

I emailed and ordered straight from the factory in Texas. There are dealers showing closer to me but they were going to have to order from the factory so I went straight to the source.
Deer Feeders, Deer Feeder Parts & Accessories

SO far their service has been great, very friendly and helpful. Their feeders, in spite of being some of the best looking feeders out there are also some of the most competitively priced. The 350# version is $300 but all the sizes are priced really well. The 1200# models I dare say are far cheaper than any other feeder that size on the market that I've seen. I believe the 1200# size is what Lakosky's have on their live deercam.

Hollow rhetoric with noting to back it. Why in the world would you want to say something like that to fellow hunter?

I'm putting a boss buck 350# out on my land. I have put large tarps all around our mature acorn trees with the intent to collect acorns for a few months, then replace the corn and protein with the acorns.

Are you just going to put the acorns in there whole? My first fear is you may have trouble getting them to flow out, my next fear is how well it'll hold up in the feeder with moisture and worms in the acorns.

    ^Great advice^
I found a grove of oak trees near an office complex not far from where I live. They are loaded with acorns. I take 4 gallon bags and pick them up every year and use them. Probably upwards of 30 gallons every Fall and I use them on various properties I hunt. I spread them out near trees where my stands are hung.

Well I was thinking that I may be able to grind them and possibly make a homemade acorn rage type product. Do you think that a rough grind would allow the acorns to flow through the feed tubes?

Any advice from anyone would be great, cause this is the first time I've ever given something like this a shot.

I'm pretty excited about this project.

You rock my friend! Just ordered the nut weasel pro. I'm pumped, this has just made my hunting plan all that much sweeter.

Thanks so much for that tid bit. Great info, and just another example of why this is such a great site to be a member.

We all need to stand united.
