I've been using a Primos can call along with a Knight and Hale call. Been wondering about the Flextone calls or some of the others on the market.

Not to hijack, but if anyone has any recommendations on one of those combo grunt calls that has the snort weeze on it, I have been debating on getting one after watching a few people have success with them on the hunting shows I've been watching.

The grunt/wheez call works great here in Iowa. Weezing and shaking on a small oak tree brought in an old buck from over 100 yards away.

True Talker is the call I seem to always carry. I also like the Buck Roar from what experiences I had with it last year.

I have tried some different ones including the buck growl and some other MAD grunt/wheez combo. I still use the MAD call if it is windy out as it can produce a louder grunt.

I used the Primos can for a bit, and it worked great the 1st 2 years I was using it. Seemed like most bucks could be brought into range with it. However, as they became more popular, the less responses I got. I now just use the bleat on the True Talker instead.

That is a great point Scott. I think the same applies to scents. Once a deer finds out a hunter is associated with that sound or scent they are much more cautious when they hear or smell it again. So obviously when an item becomes popular there is much more chances of a deer having experience with that call or scent prior to you using it.

true talker work good but when you need to get load use the buck rawr. i lost my buck rawr last year so i bought the flextone. the grunt part sounded good but the wheeze part didnt work for shat. had to get the call at the right angle or it wouldnt work right but then i found my buck rawn next to the tracker where the owner found it in the field. hah... and the primos can call is sweet

I bought one via Rob/Pa and I cant think of the name for the life of me but it is one fantastic call.
I will update once I get out to the garage and get the call out of my storage container.

I bought the Mad Buck Growl. Started practicing with it and it sounded good then the other day I picked it up and it sounded terrible like something was wrong with it. Think I'm gonna exchange it for a Primos Buck Roar. Anyone try the Up Roar by Primos? It has a grunt/growl, bleat, and snort wheeze all in one call.

I like both the MAD Buck Growl and the Flextone call....both sound really nice. The MAD call takes a little more practice to use well, but when I combo this with some rattling it works well in our area.

I use the Primos buck roar. I never use the roar but makes the best grunt call on the market. The first time I grunted with it I grunted three different times and called in 4 deer.
