    I take that back, I saw him one time 3 days before I killed him and then moved a stand 20 yards closer to where he came out. I killed him my first night in that stand.

    Last 5 days of October has always been my favorite time to get on mature deer. They are still in their core area and are starting to spend some time tending scrapes during legal light and they are feeding pretty heavily getting ready for the rut. If I could only hunt one week each year, it would be the last 5 days of October and the first two days of November.

    Snake, congrats on killing a sly one.

    No doubt about it. I love those last days, especially if it gets drizzly and cool outside. Things can pick up in a hurry.

    Halloween day 9:00 AM 2009. Hadn't seen him since late July. He was cruising looking for does. Scored 167. I love hunting the last few days of October when the weather is cold. Can't beat it.

    First week of November. November 2nd was my biggest.

    Usually 1st week of November is the start of gun season here in Minnesota, that's not the case this year. It doesn't start until 2nd weekend, I'm pretty happy I get that extra week in November before the guns go off.

    Biggest buck, Mid sept. at around 3:00PM during youth season just before bow started. Killed at age 15 scored 162"

    November 10th at last light. They always say dont shoot before rut unless it will be the biggest buck you've shot in your life! I followed that pattern and it paid off. 131"
