I've been hunting for 6 years now and still haven't taken a buck, only does. I have seen plenty while hunting, but none that are old enough to be shot.

Last year however on my gam camera, October 31st showed a ton of bucks all around my stand, and two small ones fighting. All pics were at night but that is when the rut really kicked in here last year. I wish I would have been hunting around the week, but didn't get a chance to pull the card until middle of Nov.

So what time of the year do you see more bucks out, presenting a chance to harvest one, or when did you shoot your stud.

I am in Oklahoma, so obviously our "rut" dates won't all be the same.

I see the most bucks in Sept. This is the first year where I'll have a stand in a good rut area. All my other stands are over fields.

Second week of November is when I'm glued to the tree, thats normally when I see the biggest/most deer in my area.

Last week of Oct you still have a good chance of killing a home core deer, 2nd week of Nov. you just never know what will walk by.

First 2 weeks in November I see more bucks than any other time in the season obviously the rut. I got my biggest buck on November 10 2011 at 4:35 in afternoon 2 mins before shooting light was up. Not only do I see a lot more deer in those 2 weeks the sign I saw last year in that time was insane. It went from seeing sign from what looked like a dozen deer to a herd of 100 deer tramping through the woods it was crazy. Never seen so much sign in one area like that. Rubs, scrapes, tracks, scat and fur. One day I saw 10 deer in the stand and a small buck literally chasing 3 does for over a half hour all around my stand I got video of it but it got dark and the vid turned to c*^*.

The first week of November for me has always been really good for seeing bucks. I haven't shot one since the day I shot my big one, but I'm also picky. This year my plan is to not be so picky.

November 20, 2011 4:35 PM. First evening of a big cold front that brought 15 mph winds, snow flurries, and temps around 28 degrees. I was sitting the edge of a funnel between food and bedding. 153" ten, 260 lbs hoof weight. Enjoy!

My biggest buck was shot on Oct. 7th in the last hour of light . I have shot most of my bucks in the last week of Sept. or Oct. and I can't tell if most were in the morning or evening .

My largest buck to date was on Nov 15th (opening of gun in MI) it was about 1030-11 am, and i literally just shot a doe about 15 minutes earlier, and a nice 8 pt (10, but had 2 broken tines) walked out as i was checking out my doe and talking to my dad on the phone.
