Ragweed was fun, but I haven't seen them since they became The Departed. My other passion besides hunting is music and concerts. I travel quite frequently (thought not as much as before) for concerts of bands most have not heard. Also did they countryfestival thing a couple times, but I don't really count those. Notable bands you probably have heard of: Caught Merle Haggard and Kris Kristofferson a couple years back when they toured together Jamey Johnson some of you may know The Jayhawks George Jones Alabama Nugent Randy Rogers Band Reckless Kelly Marshall Tucker Band
Blake shelton was really good in person and I'm going to Flordia Georgia line in a couple months Sent from iPhone
Having been working 27 years in the Music industry and doing shows in 30 some countries its hard to say what my favorite concert was....
The National Tame Impala Radiohead Local Natives Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeroes Shooter Jennings (3 times) Stoney LaRue Pat Greene Cross Canadian Ragweed (like 20 times) Staind Ying Yang Twins (don't ask) Chevelle Incubus Saliva Sevendust a bunch of other less known bands Favorite: The National or the Shooter Jennings concert with only like 50 people. Most badass: Radiohead Worst: Staind Most bizarre: Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes. We sat indian style in a circle and they played acoustic and bongo drums. It was the hippiest thing I've ever done. I'm pretty sure everyone was high.
The production was amazing which is what made it so badass, but it was such a large concert that I didn't really like it overall when it came to the music. I prefer small concerts to the huge stadium concerts. But I'm glad I got to see them live.
I'm shocked Justin hasn't been on this thread yet. I've been to a few. Went to a couple of Lollapalooza's including 1994 and 1997. Was waaay too young to be at the one in 1994 with a bunch of my sisters older friends but saw some cool bands at both including Smashing Pumpkins, Beastie Boys, Black Crowes, Tool, Snoop, Korn, Porno for Pyros, etc. Also have seen at seperate concerts Roger Waters, Grateful Dead, Dave Mathews, been to two seperate Country Fest events in NY with some big country names, and a handful of others I'm not thinking of. Saw the Bloodhound Gang at the Crow Bar in State College PA years ago too. I know I'm missing a bunch. Other than Lollapalooza, I'd say the Roger Waters and Bloodhound Gang shows were probably the most fun I've been too. I'm not too much into them these days now, but did have a ton of fun years ago at some of these.
Been to a lot of concerts but the one that always stands out is the Beastie Boys. They were on stage for over 2 hours. It was awesome! I've seen Eric Church and Jason Aldean a few times - both put on a great show. Billy Joel and Elton John put on a great show too. Really enjoyed Jamie Johnson.
Just got tickets for The National and Tame Impala for Oct 12th in Dallas! Seen them both before, but not together.
I had to laugh at the "lesser know" than these bands comment. I had only heard of about three of the others. If they are lesser known than that list, they must be a bunch of 6th graders in a garage! lol
