Can I rant about $35 burp clothes? Seriously. $35 for a piece of cloth that is going to catch my baby's vomit.

Get a bunch of cloth diapers. They work great for burp rags. Seriously.

Yep they are the best, and if your wife wants em fancied up find someone to do some neat stitching on them. My Aunt made us very nice sets for our kids when born.

My wife has about 3 or 4 high end diaper bags, to match her outfits....I am talking like 300 plus a shot.... Then to top it off she orders me a black ll bean bag for like 50 bucks so I have one when I needed it....I am like WTF.
All that aside...I pick my battles and diaper bags wasn't one of them.

Yeah she already bought her expensive diaper bag, which I thought "fine, she needs it and she will use", but now she wants another one and a weekend bag from the same company. Ugh.

At least she was finally able to decide on a bumper for the crib. I've never seen someone stress over something so unimportant in my life. It was if the bumper would determine whether or not our child would have a good childhood or not.

What's funny about this, is after about 6 months, you'll both realize that taking a diaper bag is a pain in the rear, and they'll be ditched to the side. By that point, anytime you go anywhere, all you bring along is a few diapers, a bottle, and wipes. So you don't really need the whole bag.

You are not alone on this one. Women are complicated as it is but you add in all the instincts they are dealing with for the first time bringing a child into the home at a time their hormones are all out of whack which means it is a breeding ground for irrationality.

We actually received an outfit in that god awful zebra print/pink pattern. I didn't even allow it in my house.

No registry? Or did something think they were cute and didn't buy something off the list?

They say raising a child now costs over $250,000 per child. If I had known that when we started out, I could have bought her 4 dolls and been a millionaire now! Not really, I love my children (now that they are permanently out of the house).

For some reason a lot of people off my wife's side of the family just ignore our registry and bought whatever the hell they felt like buying. Which is another rant. I hate people buying me things, but people insist, so we register at a few places, but apparently nobody likes those places, so they just buy whatever the hell they feel like buying, and 99% of the time, it's crap.

Oh man..... I can't even imagine how affluent we would be if we didn't have kids. I'm really really really really looking forward to my wife going back to work which is only about 1.5 years away.

You will never use this. Ever.

Furthermore, get yourself a nice backpack and use that as your diaper bag. Not only is it cheaper than a real "diaper bag", but it doesn't look like a diaper bag and is large enough to hold just about anything you need. My advice is to keep your own bag packed and ready to go for those times you don't feel like dealing with your wife's insanity.

One of the biggest mysteries to me is why my child, who cannot walk, needs shoes.
