I sprayed the clover with Clemitodim and mowed it a few times. The grass is gone only thing I have left to clear out is briars. Anything I can spray them with that is safe for the clover?

Are there too many to spot spray them with brush killer?

They are everywhere. I was hoping that when I mowed they would go away but no joy.

But I do everything with a backpack sprayer so what would be safe to spot spray with?

Covey can chime in on this, what about trying Butyrac, it should take care of the briars if they aren't too tall.

That's what I have been reading. The deer are hammering the clover plots so I'm afraid to kill them. Thanks for the recommendation I think that's what I will go with. Worst case I put on some gloves and revisit my tobacco pulling days. :tu:

I'd leave them alone and just keep clipping them off when I mowed the clover. Deer like to browse on blackberry and they are high protein feed. I never liked Butyrac and I don't believe it's labeled for clover.
Let us know how it works for you.

Hard to spray just for briars in clover because most sprays will kill anything broad leaf or woody plant. I've been spraying remedy and cimmeron in my pastures around clover but not sure how it's effecting clover it's self

thanks guys for all the feedback. I think I am going to let the briars go and see what happens. The deer are hitting the clover plot hard so I don't want to do anything to change that.

I think that's a good decision. The label says not to graze alfalfa after spraying with the buttrack (lol). It's probably a bad idea to spray it anyway if it's as hot there as it is here.

I just mow my clover for broad leaf control. I use Clethodim to control grasses in my clover(when I actually spray it). I'm not the best at maintaining my annual plots of clover.
