What do you know about the primos truth 35ir.
The covert mp-e5 has a 36sec recovery after each photo. That's bad. Right?
Moultrie m-550 looks cool. What do you know about that one?

The primos 35ir is not a bad camera, a lot of people use them but they can be hit or miss. The night time photos aren't the best and battery life is so so. The covert mp-e5 is a lower end model if I'm not mistaken and yes anything over a 2 second delay is certainly not ideal unless it's under a feeder. Almost all of the newer Moultrie mini cams are pretty good cameras.

I would strongly recommend staying away from any cameras under $100 unless they are on sale. I really like the m990. It has a 2 inch color viewer that displays live what the camera is looking at so when you are setting it up, you can see what the pictures look before hand. Stay away from any wild game camera! I would never pay over a dollar for a new one, they are that bad...

Yes I agree with $150 and up if you can, the only reason I said less than that was for the Moultrie m990. It is a black flash but it takes better night pics than my attack ir's. But yes, in general, black flash has poorer night pictures.

Just look through the trail camera section, you will find plenty of information on the covert line of cameras.

Covert and Moultrie are the best cameras. IMO. You get great quality, customer service, and they are affordable. Maybe buy one of each and make up your mind after a month worth of pictures.

I personally use Covert. This will be year 3 or 4 for some of the cameras, and they have been outside in the elements since day one.

The Mpe-5 has a 2 shot burst, 30 second reset time option. The pictures are clear as any of you will find and the batteries last 6 month on the minimum.

I will let u guys know what I decide to do. I think I have narrowed it down to a couple. I'm sorry though. I must Be honest. The fact that everyone mentions covert customer service before anything else concerns me. I want a camera where I don't have to deal with customer service. But then again I have not tried the camera and I know you guys are quality people that would not steer me wrong. The 36 second recovery time concerns me. I was looking at Primos truth 35 or the X-8 6mp Bushnell. What do you guys think about that

I have not owned a primos camera, but i have owned that Bushnell. I have no complaints about it. If i were choosing between the 2i would get the Bushnell.

Yes! Thanks. I like it. AA batteries. Long life. It's gonna be better than the 2006 Remington cameras I have out now...

Primos cams get bad reviews from what I have seen, along with the x8 bushy. Do yourself a favor and get the mp6 black flash

There's more to customer service than just replacing a camera that has an issue. Customer service can include having any questions you might have answered here on a forum after normal work hours. Just an example. :D

Enjoy your cam whatever brand you decide to get and be sure to share the pics with us.

Having ONLY owned Bushnell (3 total) and Covert (6 total) cameras I can tell you that from a reliability stand point Covert are much more reliable.

Its an electronic device that sees extreme weather and temp. changes - none of us want to deal with customer service reps but that is just the reality of this product. I've dealt with Bushnell and Covert Customer Service and I can't even fairly compare the two, Covert wins everytime.

I really don't see any reason why I would buy any other cameras other than Covert in the near futurue.

And one more thing, you want to use a more "reputable" company, understand that those more "reputable" comapinies make a lot of different products, trail cameras are just a drop in the bucket to them.

Covert focuses its efforts on its core competencies - trail cameras! That is what they do.

Note: not being paid to say any of this just a happy customer.
