...take to the stand when you're hunting?
(2)Do you like the quality of pics and ease of use?
(3)Does it fit easily in a pocket?

I usually don't take one. (unless you count the cell phone) If I do it's C's little Olympus 770SW point and shoot when she's taking the Nikon D60. The Olympus usually has good quality pictures and is as easy as any P&S out there. It's also esily fits in an pocket.

I take a Canon Rebel XSi with 18-55mm and 75-300mm lenses with me every trip. It takes gorgeous pictures and is easy to use, but it is a bit bulky when the 75-300mm lens is attached.

I've taken all of these pics with a Canon A2000 IS which fits nicely in my pocket.

If I was going to get a new one I'd be getting the SX210 IS. It's got a more powerful zoom and higher resolution than mine in the same size package. The only drawback is that it doesn't take AA batteries like my A2000 which is a nice convenience when you're hundreds of miles from the nearest charger/outlet. It seems that cameras are like computers anymore; as soon as you buy one it's relegated to obsolescence by the next one to come on the market.

Canon 30D with a 28-135mmIS. Bulky for sure, but it gives me the control I like with my shots.

I just convinced my sister to get the FZ35.... it is a great camera.... but I will say that it definetly requires a little more knowledge to properly use than most other digital SLR Type cameras. If you have a good idea of appeture, shutter, and focal length settings the Panasonic FZ35 is an amazing camera!
