If you get busted how long do you usually give a stand to rest. I believe I spooked a few does and now I'm trying to decide how long to let the spot set without hunting. I'm thinking a week.

How often do you hunt it. If not that often then you will be fine within just a few days if you hunt it often I would give it a week

If its an old nanny doe, you're done. Leave the stand in the tree and put another stand in a different tree. I guaranty you will see her coming in looking straight at that stand. When she does, take her out!

If its a younger buck or doe, you will probably be ok if you give it a couple weeks. That's been my experience with the same deer coming in anyways.

Now I have sat in a stand, been busted then 15 min later kill a deer. That's how my first one went down. I believe it really all depends an there is no right or wrong answer. Give it a try and fin out. There is nothing better than experience.

Had a huge doe bust me last Monday evening. I shot an eight point from the same stand the next morning.

Depends on how old she was. Young doe= give it a week you'll be ok. Old doe= You're done for. Move the stand toward where she's coming from and kill her before she goes on alert.

I've been thinking about putting a mannequin in my stand in the off season. so they get used to seeing a silhouette in the tree. what do you think? haha

Seems kind of dumb, but it's the same concept of putting your sets in early so they get used to seeing them.

I have a friend that tried that and believe it or not he felt like they could tell a difference.
