Just curious after a conversation with one of our programmers. A customer's website did not appear correctly in IE, and when I told the programmer to fix it, he responded, "Why is she using IE? No one uses IE anymore." So, what browser do you use to play on the internet? I still believe the majority use IE. Mostly by default (Windows), or they don't know there are better options out there.
The only option on my work computers is IE. I have a Mac at home, and I primarily use Firefox, but my wife uses the standard Safari. Most people use IE just because it's there. My family is very unsavvy with computers, and they're afraid to download anything on the internet. I think there's a lot of people like that, so they just use what they already got.
Firefox at home and primarily at work IE 8.0 whenever I have to for work and for some personal stuff such as finances, etc. Links/lynx/elinks - Linux text only browsers for fast browsing across the wAN That being said, I have issues when logging into here on my Linux workstations and netbook using FF. I can't click in the login boxes and it won't let enter in my credentials.
Thanks for not proving my point...jerks. I would guess about 90% of the customers I deal with use IE, and at least half of those don't realize there are other options. This is a common conversation... Me: "What browser are you using?" Customer: "What do you mean?" Me: "What do you click on to view a website?" Customer: "The blue E." Me: "Okay, so you use Internet Explorer?" Customer: "Uhh...what?"
You should give Chrome a try. In my experience, its the faster and safer than Firefox. I also like the look and features better.
ie Tried firfox (work). Hated it (only because it didn't like some software/sites I had to use). Now, my home computer IS my work computer.
same... I hate IE. I use Chrome when I am using an air card since it seems to be better when there is less b/w
For the most part there is a plug in for Firefox that will mimic any other browser...or enable whatever you need it to do. Plus its a whole lot more secure then IE.
