I'm looking to acquire a bow to hunt deer and moose up here in canada. What should I be looking for as a start up bow to learn the ropes( no pun intended) and maybe hunt for a year or to until I get really stuck to the sport? Thanks in advance for your replies.

It always sounds stupid but go to a shop and try a few out. See how they feel like bow weight and draw weight etc. wise. It also depends how much you want spend or what you prefer looks wise.

Love to sell you my high Country speed pro, it would put an arrow through any big game.. I think they would charge me my next unborn child to ship it to Canada however!!!

^^ But what ArcheryGirl said for the most part, it really helps if you can get you're hands on a few different bows and sling some arrows to see what you like the best. If not, then there is the issue of sorting out everyone's opinions on what is best.

I'm shooting a new bow this year, it's a really nice setup... However the only thing that has changed between this bow and my last is that, A. The grip is slightly larger, and B. It's slightly faster. It's really hard to tell you what to get but it's just as hard to guess at what to get and what you're going to like.

Sorry I have no direct answer for you ;(, best of luck

I happen to like my last two PSE's. But you must shoot at least two bows from every brand you are interested in. Find an archery shop nearby and get busy!!! Good Luck.
