I'm 14 and bow hunting is new to me. I have been hunting for like deer and boar and i want to make it a little more interesting.
I want a bow thats not too expensive cause i won't know if i will like it or not. Maybe a Bow i can use for Bow fishin to?
I live in Florida so i can mainly use it for boar and Gar and carp.
I'm also new to this forum so i don't mean to break any rules if i do.

    Please help. Thanks

Somebody last week was looking for a new bow. Here is how I answered that post.

IMO Bear Archery makes some quality bows for a fair price. However, some folks are gonna say: Hoyt, Matthews, Bowtech, I said Bear Archery, XYZ bow brand. These opinions are many. There are alot of quality bow makers these days.

I do think that everyone would agree on this idea. I'd recommend that you go to as many stores, archery pro shops and the like and shoot as many different bows as you can get your hands on. Resist the tempation to buy XYZ bow brand because someone else says it's the best bow they've every shot. Take your time, don't get rushed, maybe go back a 2nd or 3rd time and then pick out the bow that YOU feel, shoots the smoothiest, feels the best in your palm and has the performance and features that are within what you would like to spend. Make sense. I decided on a Bear Archery Instinct, because it felt and shot the best to me. I didn't have alot of dollars to spend either at the time. You can find a real dandy bow and outfitted with some nice equipment for $400 or less. May not be the latest and greatest, may not be the fastest, but sure will harvest a whitetail just the same. Hope you understand I'm not trying to preach to you. Just wanted to try and help. Just my 2 cents partner.

Also, here is a link for discussion. http://forums.bowhunting.com/showthread.php?t=14612&highlight=bear+archery

    Hope this helps.

Alos i'm kind of confused. If i'm right handed do i want a right handed bow? Might sound like a dumb question but better safe than sorry

Depending on your price range a bear apprentice might work for you. It's uber adjustable and has room for you to grow into. Just keep in mind that is only a suggestion for a type of bow to look at. Like many on this site will tell you, shop around and shoot as many as you can. Good luck!

well i would go to a shop first and see how much and you can pull back. being able to lift 80 lbs doesnt mean to much when pulling back a bow. then for a first bow i would look on ebay for a nice bow. theres lots of nice bows for good prices on there. just like iowa bowhunter i would recommend a bear bow dont know how much you want to spend. but you can get a truth 2 for $329 bare or a lights out for $359 set up
