So a while back I was helping my grandpa clear out some stuff in his shop, and came across this bow. It was his brothers, that my uncles eventually used. He said I could have. Although I’m not sure what type of bow it is. From what I’ve researched, it could be a Bear Polar or Beat Whitetail. It also has this nick/cut in the limb. Is this safe? And is it fixable?

I have a Bear Whitetail. Mine is about 40 years old and I got it used. The nick looks like it's only superficial on the finish but I suggest you take it to a reputable archery shop and let them look at it. You don't want a limb to let go while shooting it. If it can't be fixed, put it up as a wall-hanger for a family memento.

Id have it examined by a repair shop, best to have a couple pros verify its safety.
