So I'm looking at getting a new pair of boots as I want to expand my hunting experiences. I'm looking for something I can walk a few miles back in, then sit all day in both spring and into late fall climates.
    My thoughts were a 400 or 600 gram insulated/waterproof 6 inch boot.

Anybody have any reccomendations or other opinions?

Tough call. I have Rockey 800 gram and today in 40+ wind and rain, I wasn't feeling toasty. I've used them in colder hunts with a lot of sitting but put hand warmers in them. They're OK if you're moving around a lot but barely adequate for 40 and below if you have to sit.
