Hey guys, I'm currently shooting 30 inch a2a bow, and being 6,2 it's pretty damn short. The angle of the string actually leaves the arrow under my jaw line. I'm pretty accurate with it, but for my next bow what size should I get? I know bows can go right up to 37 a2a. DA
Draw length to ATA ratio would be far more relevant than ATA to shooter's height. There are plenty of tall guys shooting 30"ATA Matthews, not to mention the longer the ATA the more space you as a tall guy will need to be able to shoot. Don't fix what ain't broke bud!
I'm 6'3", DL 29.5 and shoot a Spyder30. My pro shop told me I was close to needing something longer but my 30 is fine. I think they were referring to where I have the peep site. I'm no expert, just sharing what I was told.
I think it how people are built as well. My draw length is 29 inch and my bow 30 ate, but the string angle is such that my peep is way out in front of me.
Imho you want your peep as far away as possible from your eye. It's more accurate that way. Your anchor will dictate your peep's position: higher brings it closer and lower the opposite. I have a high anchor and close peep with no accuracy issues though. I'm 6'2" with 31 1/2" draw. I have a Spyder 34 LD at 34" ata and a Bear Agenda 7 at 32" ata. The bows feel a bit different, but shoot phenomenally! You have a lot of choices at 29" DL. However, don't think a longer ata is automatically gonna shoot better. Try them out and see what works for you.
I'm 6'2" and I shoot a Hoyt Spyder 34" LD and absolutely love it. My draw length is 31" and it fits me perfectly. Its a smooth draw and rests in my hand nicely. With my long draw length I'm able to give my shoulder a break and only shoot 60lbs and achieve very respectable speeds and kinetic energy.
Well the way i see it there are pro and cons find witch fit you and your style and dont look back if the one you have now is a tack driver then dont change anything
