Given my current situation, I could not imagine not killing at least 2 does in a single season.

Do I expect to take a whitetail every season? No.. I do not. Not saying I don't have the chance.. but it may not be what I want anyhow.

I base the success of my season on what I have learned.. and how much further I believe I have advanced in my own deer hunting. As in... did I take another step forward and get better? If I answer yes.. than the season was a success.

I hunt both public and private.. but lean heavier on private grounds. And no.. my standards do not slip from what I want as the season dwindles.

Given my current situation I would be VERY disappointed if I didn't atleast kill a couple does. Especially with the time I put in.

I'll kill at least a couple does a season. The buck depends on if he's 120"+. If not I'll go buckless. But, there's nothing more cool than to shoot deer with your bow. And I love backstraps, sausage, deer meat etc... So yeah I'll kill at least 2 -4 a year. To be honest I see it as next to impossible to not kill at least a couple does. I don't really know how I would feel if I got skunked. Dazed and confused I suppose.

My plans depend on the children now days. At one time I would take 2 or 3 does and look for a decent buck, but now that my children hunt I usually stick to one doe and buck until after the kids season. If they both score then I dont need the extra meat. I am looking for a wall hanger for sure at the start of the season and I get less picky towards the close.

There may be a yr coming up where I don't kill a single deer. And, that'll be fine. I'm all about the "how"....and I see a yr coming where I hunt 100% from the ground. I'm just not "there", yet.

Not too different from how I turkey hunt. It's been 2 yrs. since I've drawn down on a bird. I'm fine with that, too.

The longer I do this, the less important the "how big" and the "how many" becomes.

With the properties I currently hunt, and their current situation, I expect to shoot a doe or three every season. When it comes to bucks, I don't expect to kill one. I don't even expect to see one I'd want to shoot. :o

Because of having a very positive attitude, I always go into each season expecting to take a good buck. However, I am well aware that it is entirely possible that I do not take a good buck every season and I'm OK with that. Like DM said, as long as I learned something and had fun, my season was a success.

If we're just talking about getting a deer, any deer, I could get one every season if I chose to. I've had the oppertunity to do so for as long as I can remember.

Certainly I expect to get deer. last year my first, of seriously doe hunting had a goal of 2 does and hopefully a nice buck (125+ in my area).

The does were easy enough and honestly if "deer" are your goal, this is almost a no-brainer but it takes a different mind-set than that of a pure buck hunter mentality. I learned alot in harvetsing my 2 doe.

I did take a buck that met my criteria and then later took a PA buck in rifle season..so I exceeded my expectations.

I will go into next year (this year) with the same mindset 2 doe and a 135+ (up the ante) Buck.

I expect to take at least one deer a year. I consider the season a success based on what I've learned in a given season and if I take a mature deer. I hunt a combination of private and public land.

I expect to kill at least a Doe every year and would like to take a good buck but that not always going to happen.

I had several distractions this year, my mother who lives with me and my family (wife and 2 kids). She is in poor health, she was taken to the hospital several times this past year. this prevented me from getting out as much as i ususally do. That being said i screwed up on a doe that i could have shot, but i would rather have my mother around then to killed a deer thou, but its a close 2nd.

I expect to shoot at least a doe a season. My goal is 2 deer a season but If I'm shooting a buck it has to be 2.5yrs+ and in my area that can be pretty tough to do!

I expect to shoot at least one doe and to have at least one opportunity at a buck that I would deem a trophy. I hunt nearly all private land and also consider the success of my preseason (planting, stand hanging) to determine my opinion of the season.

I expect for at least me or my son to shoot at least one deer. Hopefully a buck ;P

I do not live in a state that has the HIGH deer populations such as Texas, NC, Alabama etc. Those states tend to have a much more target rich environment compared to PA.

But like GregH said I try to keep it positive.
