I am currently using a 3 pin sight and I shoot a pretty fast bow, although I have yet to chronograph it (waiting until I have EVERYTHING I want on my bow). My Plans are to have my pins set for 30, 40 and 50 yards, assuming my bow can accurately shoot 30 yards with the first pin of course. Please get back to me on what your pin set up is as well as any advice on my plans (no "thats ridiculous you shouldnt be shooting father than 25 yards", FYI, the 50 is going to be for practice mostly and if confident enough in it, I MAY use it for sheep and goat while on spot and stalk preserve hunts). For any information about my setup refer to my signature at the bottom of this post. Thank you.

I shoot 20, 30, and 40. I would add another pin if I wanted to shoot 50, 60 or more. I have a 75 yard practice pin for the off season that I remove during the season. IMO a 30 yard pin lacks the poinpoint accuracy necessary to avoid nearby limbs and such encountered along the way during hunting situations. No matter how fast your set-up, you will have a great deal of arrow rise and fall at 30 yards and the potential for deflection is a big consideration for me. I hunt thick edges where a lot of obstacles are my reality.

    20 - 30 - 40 - 50 - 60.

Most of my summer practice takes place at 40+ yards.

5 pin, 20-60 yard settings. Where I hunt it is physically impossible for me to have a shot over 30 yards but I like practicing at the long distances for a future plains antelope hunt.

5 pins on my Black Ice, 10 - 50 yards. Only use the top pin for shot on the outdoor course on Ft. Belvoir. It is only a 33' or so shot and you are aiming at a dime sized target.

My Destroyer 350 has a single pin and I have it marked 20 - 80 yards in increments of 10. The 80 yards is because there is an 80 yard shot on the above mentioned course.

4 pins, 20-30-40-50. I wouldn't be able to take a deer past 30 so the higher ones are just for ****in around in the backyard.
