scout, look at trail cam pics, put together a future hit list, put in food plots, practice shooting, and maybe even get some new property to hunt.

Find more private ground to hunt.....gonna be a great challenge! I have about a 1/3 of what I had 15 yrs. ago and I've gotten lazy.

I just recently got back into bowhunting with a compound, so my off season will include plenty of setup and practice. Hopefully several 3d shoots as well. As far as hunting, I'll be scouting and hanging stands for next season. Trail cam use with bait after season to see what bucks remain. Shed hunting. Lots of practice shooting, turkey hunt in spring then just basically patiently wait for late October to roll around.

First get used to my new bow. Second keep gathering building materials for the new hunting cabin. Third trim shooting lanes and hang more stands. Forth food plots. Fifth Plant trees for thermal cover.

That should keep me busy enough.

My plan is to get into top mountain hunting shape. Do lots of endurance training and workouts so I'm not close to dying at the end of every hunt I go on haha

I don't even know where to begin. Here goes:

    1. Find sheds from all resident bucks on the properties that I hunt.
    2. Create new food plots and hang all new sets on a new property.
    3. Hang more sets on main property and tweak existing setups.
    4. Get mobile climbing sticks and two new stands for my wife and myself.
    5. Continue with the creation of more bedding areas and a new kill plot on a 50 acre piece of ground that my dad owns.
    6. Get back into mountain hunting shape and prepare for my Idaho elk hunt.
    7. Add additional food plot to main property and add more mineral sites.
    8. Trim shooting lanes at all sets.
    9. Replace straps on stands.

I'm sure that I could continue on, but that's enough to think about for now.

One thing I need to do a better job of this year is actually patterning the deer outside of just their food sources. Where are they coming from and where are their travel routes.

I have 120 acres in a really good area. Have had it for 6 years now and other then mineral sites, haven't done anything to improve the land. So my goal is to get foodplots in finally, hopefully successfully. And to do some cutting of trees that sent helping me any. Would also like to plant some apple trees, but that's 3rd on the list.
