I have some time off in December so I'll be spending some time in a tree stand during the late season. I need to pick up some clothing that'll keep me nice and toasty. I don't mind spending a little extra $$$$ for quality clothing but if I can find some quality stuff at reasonable prices, that'd be ideal. Your thoughts?

:lmao: You had me CRYING I was laughing so hard. And to the OP, I hear a lot of good things about Sitka Gear, it is pretty expensive stuff though. Would really like to try it out sometime. But for now I just wear Scent Blocker Bibs and a Jacket. Works well, but only if I layer up underneath.

I would look into fleece and wool products. Lots of warmth for the money. Just make sure you layer them correctly.

Hands down the Sitka incinerator suit is the best to keep you warm.

I want to try the heaterbody suit also. If you can, wait till after the wi gun season and most of the gander or cabelas brand layering systems are really discounted. You'll need an inside layer that will take your sweat away from your skin and outside layer to block the wind.

I wear Field & Stream No Scent and Under Armour Poly Dry but I am in SW Ohio and the coldest it really averages here in the middle of winter is in the high 20s so no where near as cold as you fellers up in cheese land.

Just a rule of thumb for me though, make sure to layer and don't wear everything while walking into the stand because if you sweat you will just be more cold. Put on the layers once you get to the stand. When I rifle hunt in the mountains of PA, I like to have 3 main layers, a poly dry (or a one piece thermal layer like long john type), a fleece or wool layer, and then a scent controlling outer layer (typically my bib overalls).

This just about killed me!! Had me cracking up in the dead quiet office!!! lol!!

Is anyone familiar with Polar Tech? Looks like it could be some decent quality stuff but I'd like to hear from someone who's tried their gear out.

Heater body suit is in my opinion the best option in cold conditions.

Going to order Sitka Stratus bibs soon if the pants don't become available soon. With enough layering it should do well enough for most of PA's season.

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4.

Not sure if it's a cost difference you're wavering on; but in my experience bibs are always warmer than equivalent brand/style of pants. No gap in the back for wind to get in.

Although bibs do make it harder to drop your drawers and take cafe of business, if you're prone to those kind of issues.

I've loved to use Gamehide Monster Bibs and Jacket for my late season hunts! This year i'm testing out wearing Mathew's Scent Blocker Fleece - layered up!

I bought some cheap walls coveralls and wear scentlok base layer and sweat cloths underneath.I wash them after every hunt to keep everything scent free.
