Will buddy...I know we discussed Prongies in WY...but exactly what I thought would happen is happening...I think about those DANG Elk more and more each day:)

Pending a healthy new child in a couple months...my wife has given me the green light to do something this fall - The West will be calling.

Let me wrap up my whitetail season here on 1/16 first...then I'll be phoning you to chat and discuss...

Put your ideas and hopes out there guys/gals...there are plenty of great people/hunters/hosts out there such as Will that "can show you the way"...many of these hunts are highly affordable if you can split gas, camp, eat out of a cooler....and you'll have the time of your life!:poke:

Family and work are first, but any free time I have I plan on spending with Dubs.

    Tonight we were talking about.....
    Texas hogs in Feb/March
    Turkeys in WY in April
Antelope in WY in August with Johnny (this is happening for sure)
Ontario spike camp for Whitetail in October

One thing I plan on not doing is spending much, if any, time in Illinois. I have spent the last 2 years hunting a piece that held big bucks, but was nearly impossible to hunt. I'm ready for a change. I do plan on whitetail hunting the family land here a lot more, with my wife. She wants to get back into bowhunting now that we have the second little one.

Hog hunt in Texas in April and other than that I promise myself I won't start bowhunting until the last week of October. I have found zero reason to muck up my spots really before the end of Oct, beginning of November.

What I'm going to do that is dramatically different from last year, or any other year, is learn how to bait............... sort of.

I would love to Sit my butt in a Tree in Illinois next year... I don't care if it's downtown Chicago... well maybe not there, but for some reason, I don't know if it's the pics stories or fame, but I've always wanted to hunt Illinois.

And Of course Will I don't know if it will happen this year, but I want to get out your way to hunt "something" lol.

We'll see Will on the Wyoming goat hunt. Pending If I get drawn for a Mn bear license and also how the winter goes hauling milk. I've gotta get over to Idaho and do a hunt with Troy here soon!! Might try a spring bear hunt with the mountain man himself. ;) What a treat that would be.

Steve, erase any doubt and make it happen. I’ll keep your hauling equipment in my prayers (no break downs). Hunting with Shed should be a blast! Keep the goat hunt in the back of your mind. I would love to have you out.

John, I can definitely give you some tips and contacts for the red stag and caribou. We can make that affordable enough. I would love to help you put those hunts together.

Aaron, say the word and I’ll drop the dime. I’ll have you hunting in Illinois lickety- split. As for here, my door is always open. Make it happen!

Greg, I’m assuming you’re putting in food plots. Doing so takes time, money, and a lot of hard work. I wish you the best with your endeavor.

Red, I wish you the best of luck hunting hogs in Texas. I’m thinking I’ll do the same with my 10 y/o daughter in February. She’s itching to get back after the piggies…

Dan, what can a person say? You’re in great hands with Dubbs. If you’re going to be around in April, maybe the three of us can meet up. There are a lot of birds in S. Dakota…

Matt, don’t you have somewhere to be from now until the seasons over…really, stay home with your family. Score some mommy points! I hate the fact Team 9 is moving so close…j/k
Yes, let’s make the arrangements! Call when you’re ready.

MSbow, watch how you spend and make your spending count. Be disciplined enough to put a little away here and there…best wishes.

Brett, If you care, I can set you up on a diy public land hunt for deer in South Dakota, Colorado, or Nebraska. Fly into Denver and you can take my truck and tent trailer…bring the wool pullover! Tags in SD and NE are under $200-both states are thick with turkeys too…great stalking country! Elk…when you’re ready, drop a PM.

MeanV, what’s keeping you from hunting your butt off? Just do it!

JCriag, Atta boy! That’s the way to step out! Best of luck with your hunts and lottery results!

Christine, a Wyoming pronghorn doe tag is under $50. Split the gas with Matt and I’ll feed you while you’re here. I guarantee your goat won’t fall in a river! I triple double dog dare you!

Jay, Rocky is a Saint…you’ll be in good hands. I like the way you are broadening your horizon. Keep it up! Warm wishes.

Rockinchair, demonstrate to the landowner your worthiness. Does he have chores you can help with?

John, keep the faith brother! Make sure you are there, and don’t forget to ask Him for a little support. Remember to step out from the familiar!

Vito- practice, practice, practice! Be one with the bow.

Octhereicome-that’s stepping out. Man, I hope you get one. I’ve been trying to get a buck with my longbow for two years now. It’s not that easy… I’ve had three shots so far. I missed a buck in Kentucky, and I’ve killed two does in South Dakota.

Kill Turkeys, kill deer on some public land places that I haven't yet and hunt deer on new public land places.

Take a turkey with my bow this spring...on the ground...without a blind.

I'm going to "hopefully" go mobile this season some, and hit a bigger, more mountainous tract of 1200 acres our club owns nearby that I've NEVER bowhunted. Little agriculture, and a much less densely populated deer population than what I'm used to. Should be interesting.

Absolutely. When he was up at camp last fall, we had an absolute blast, even though the bears quit cooperating just before he got there. He even pushed his departure flight back 3 days, because we were having so much fun. Looking forward to spending more time with him this year. (Sounds like a man crush!)

If I do make it out there in April, we will definitely have to hook up. Would love to meet and share a camp with you.

I'm going out west to spot and stock Muleys. Also putting in for an elk tag for the first time, probably won't draw this year but if I do I may be calling Will.

    1) Kill a turkey with my bow on film
    2) Film and photograph summer scouting sessions
    3) Hopefully shoot a good buck on public land

Guess it's not a ton different that what I already do/try to do! Either way, that's the plan!

I believe I will be drawing my Michigan black bear tag this year. I will most likely me headed to the U.P.

I also will be making my yearly out of state DIY whitetail hunt.

I have always thought about the elk hunt. I have family members that have hunted in Montana off horse back and shot some nice bulls. I look at the pictures of your guys elk trips in Colorado and that is where I want to be.

I'll be bowhunting elk in Colorado come September with my 2 best friends (one of them is a guide out there). Hoping to lay one down on video! I can't wait.

I have no idea what this next year is going to hold, I'm not sure if I am going to be able to make any big plans like i have in the past years.
I do have an old friend of mine that really wants me to come down to Tx & hunt hogs. I just have to make it happen.

Wish I had the ability to hunt everything I wanted, but so far I'm planning on applying for 4 elk states and 4 sheep states, so who knows. I definitely will hunt elk somewhere this year, just don't know where yet.

Will, you are a very generous man. I really appreciate you offering to do that for me. $200-$300 for a weeks hunt in the middle of nowhere on public land sounds like my idea of paradise. I am not kidding, I know I am sick. :) As the year moves forward I will let you know.

I'm headed to Canada on a diy wolf hunt with a buddy, buddy was up there last week and missed a black wolf, should be fun.

Want to shoot a Turkey this spring with a bow without a blind.

I may be headed to Colorado again on a elk hunt, but I'm trying to talk my buddys to apply for a trophy unit instead and wait a few years, no matter what it will still be diy.
