With the impending DOOM, what are you doing with your Mutual Funds and 401 K investments? Cashing them in, riding it out for the long haul, moving it to safer investments or waiting and see what happens? Is this really going to be the end of the US economy?

I might take mine and bury it under a rock. Sounds like the only safe place for it anymore.

They are in safe investments for the duration.

Don't think it is the end of the US economy but it is likely just more steps in on the path to the end of being an economic superpower.

They'll stay where they are. If they are worth less in 30+ years than they are now... well that would be a sign of times that I certainly cannot predict.

Besides, we're not just invested in US funds.

I'm young so all of my investments (401k and Roth IRA) have ample time to recover.

I'm young too, and I'm still doing fairly well with my 401k. I plan to ride it out.

I treat my 401k as if I don't even have it. It will stay put. Matter of fact, I might just log in and see how much money is in there. :)

Pretty much the way I always looked at it. But I could possibly retire from this job in 3-5 years. So I moved most of my investments to more secure options a little while ago. Still going to have a little risk tho. I hope this works out in the near future.

My advisor recommended getting liquid and investing in precious metals. So I invested it all in this.

Investments?? Ha, I am poor. My wife has a 401k, but where I'm employed, I wont get crap for about another 10 years or so, That is if the postal service is still around by then...

But if/when that day comes... I should be doing pretty well...I hope.

You guys really need to have some type of investments. Like really. It is kinda important. With each year that passes, your investment earning potential just decreases.

    I've been investing since I was 22.
