That buffalo hunt is really something. For a lot of years we were the only state that had a hunt for free roaming buffalo. You do have to hunt for them. The deer on the Henry's are big.
"Tag Soup" .... To much occured in five days and would constitute writing a novel here but did indeed have a ball, wore out is an understatement, and was in white tails everyday... bumped a King of a Muley... Dang!. Pics on my page & video in signature if interrested. Jam Up Christine! Great Job there! Still cold from them snowy pictures...Burrrr-
Scouting, scouting, scouting. With the hunt chip and getting the new 62s figured out. Need to shoot a few tomorrow at the target and pull the slick tricks off my rig and put the field points back on.
Got my 2014 Tag at the 2013 price! ... TOUCHDOWN! Shot with my boy tonight. My MR5 & his Legacy. .. good times!
Less than 9 months until that Rocky Mountain High....Hopefully I get the chance to stick another one.
There could be a chance that I make it back to Colorado this fall. Not for sure yet, but a I found out about a private ranch that is owned by a friend of my in laws and they mentioned me hunting for elk out there. I will find out soon.
I'm working on getting my brother in law into bowhunting. I think he's there. We'll put in for the same tags (hopefully get the same draw) and then go out for a three day hunt, hiking in and setting up a base camp. So I'm getting my weight down and in shape and shooting more.
Snake, I hope you get to go again this year and have a much better hunt. P90X...here YOU come! :D Hey, I see they have a 30 minute version out now. :D
You going back to Whyoming this year Jerry? I'm just going to put in to get a point this year in CO. When I get there in August I'll purchase my OTC bull tag.
Good luck to everyone this fall...I plan to get CO point also - and fingers crossed that I get back out this fall for another OTC tag in CO. I've got a 4 mile run planned for lunch today...
This thread has inspired me to get in shape more than I already planned. I am heading to CO in Sept for my first DIY elk hunt. I know it is still a ways off but I cant stop thinking about it. I have elk fever! I have already started my workouts by hiking around looking for sheds. I will increase the intensity as time goes. I think the first thing that needs to go is to wean myself off the soda. The countdown begins!
Good luck in CO,there is really nothing like Elk hunting. I love those Rocky Mountains. Def need to be in great shape, packing an Elk out is rough on you Only 7 months left!
I am two years away from drawing anything worth traveling too... Maybe doing a couple general tags in 2015 but 2014 is already booked solid for me
