Please don't take this wrong, but thinner means NOTHING with today's setups....heck, not even yesterday's set ups...lol

Ask these trad guys that are shooting tomato stakes and getting pass thrust if I am right

Thinner in bone will increase penetration potential. Broadhead creates hole and shaft slips through instead of dragging.

I can guarantee there is a difference in arrows from manufacturer to manufacturer. There is a difference in a .006 arrow and a .002, mainly in spine consistency. That means something to those of us that can tell the difference. Be it during tuning or shooting. It shows up in broadhead tune more so than anywhere else.

There is also a difference in components from manufacturer to manufacturer.

    This is the big difference.

I worked on a set of arrows last week from a well respected manufacturer that is highly touted here. The nocks were full of gas bubbles from the molding process. Pulled out easily and I lost one in my target because the outsert didn't fit as it should. They also had a bad case of nock pinch because of a poorly designed nock that wasn't cleared for nocks like easton nocks are. The arrow looked cheap as well, even though it wasn't.

I have a friend that tunes arrows from a shooting machine for world competition shooters.

He made a comment to me that he didn't even want to see an arrow other than easton.

That's not to say some of the others don't make good shafts but they are hit or miss and not good across the board like with easton.

You can say its a ford, chevy argument if you want but don't forget about the Cadillac. :D

The guy is hunting, not shooting professional like someone else I know... :D

So T, a hunter taking 30 yard shots or less....you think they should spend the 100% more?

Serious question as I need to get more arrows....

If we talk companies, I've used Easton, currently Gold Tips, but research and desire to change next year has me going to Black Eagle or if I can swing the cash the tapered shaft offering from Alaskan Bowhunting. Awesome arrows.

I'm about due for some new arrows myself and I'll be going back to beman ics hunters.
Beman's are what I started with then I got some more expensive ones and was not impressed.

    Nope

But even the lesser expensive arrows from easton are high quality. Components and component alignment make a big difference and easton components are top notch.

Be it lower cost or higher cost arrows from them.

You see me reccomend easton axis arrows quite a bit for hunting shafts.

The reason is not because I think they are the "best" but because I know they will be as advertised be it a batch from today or 6 months from now. The weight is well suited for hunting. The HIT insert is awesome design for broadhead alignment. They are tough as nails. The inserts align perfectly and and are well designed and they tune great. And the biggest factor for hunters is that they are a moderately priced shaft.

They are 109 bare shaft from lancaster. Lancaster is relatively high.

I didn't say cheap. Many shafts are 150 a dozen and most are 80 to 90

Yes 109 is moderate as it is right in the middle.

You will also see me tell people to spend money on quality shafts, a high quality rest and quality broadheads.
The rest of the equipment, even the bow is a better place to skimp on price.

I shot Easton Axis and the Axis N-Fused for several years before I found my Carnivores. They are great arrows no doubt about it

I like this guy haha. If you want good arrow flight you have to think of everything, and the nice thing about Easton is they do it got you. My Axis's are the best hunting arrow I have ever had. I was thinking about tryin their Carbon Injextions though, or the FMJ Injexions. Not until I get a new bow though.

Match your arrows to your bow, then buy the best ones you can afford. Treat them like tires on your car. Quality counts.
