I always used to get too warm walking to my stands. But I LOVED the warmth a nice turtleneck brought me. So I took a turtleneck that I out grew, and cut the neck part so it looks like an old fashioned ascot or ****ey. Once I get to the stand I can pull that out of my pocket and pull it on. My neck stays warm and free from drafts, and I don't overheat while walking in. :)

Try not to wear much until you get to your stand. Then add a layer before you climb. Sweating ends up making you a lot colder. I start with a moisture wicking base layer. Then a mid-weight second layer. Next I will add a fleece jacket and pants. It doesn't get too cold here in NC and this works fine for me.

X2 on the arm guard! I have the Realtee one and won't hunt without it. I'm surprised I don't see more people using them. It's a proven product and you can pick one up at Wal Mart for like $5!

I like to wear Skin tight under armor as my first layer, I feel it really helps keep that heat it. Also I think a waterproof outer layer can be key, nothing worse than being wet and cold. Which leads to what some have said, try not to sweat on the way in to your stand, this will make you much colder. In between I like to wear sweat pants and jeans believe it or not. They can really keep the wind out at times.

Precisely 1-4! Vest is key to keep bulk of arms down.

I hate the Cold Gear Under Armour Products against my upper body, its rubs my nipples and very uncomfortable.. when it gets real cold ill wear the regular UA under the cold gear UA... but in VA we dont deal with the temps close to 0.

-UA of some sort and a T-Shirt and rain jacket to block wind for sure. Depending on temps i may add:
    - add flannel shirt
    - add UA or Kryptec sweatshirt.
    - will replace rain jacket with thicker jacket if colder.

    Bottoms:
    - Majority of the year i only wear UA Cold Gear bottoms and my uninsulated Bibs.
    - add fleece sweat pants
    - replace bibs with insulated bibs

Liek many have said, dont sweat. Once you sweat and its cold you are done.

I put the outer shirt on first in the morning and once I get up in the stand I take both shirts off and put the outer/ dry shirt on against my body and the sweaty shirt on the outside. Then put my jacket on when I cool down. Marina wool next to my skin.

Also those heat pads in my boots and gloves.

one trick ive found that works well is layer as others have said but have a thermacare back heaT wrap around your kidney area warms up your blood and your layers trap that heat in

UA works really good, make sure you get it big enough though. If its to tight you will look good wearing it, but it might restrict some blood flow and actually make you colder.

How to stay warm in South Carolina???? Lol oh boy you would die up here in Canada my friend.

-20 farenheith all late season, sometimes even late November. Ill usually wear a under armour on my skin. It wicks moisture away which is the most important thing to do. Then a thin tshirt. Then a thing long sleeve. Then a nice warm sweater. Then my hubting jacket. The tshirt and thin long sleeve produce much more warmth then you would think. Plus being light where you can still draw a bow without feeling like a marshmallow.
