Well guys and gals I got out for the first time this season tonight and first thing I did was check my camera by my blind and just about everyday I had a deer on my cam...So the anticipation to get into the blind was building very rapidly!!!

Got home from college today and took a shower and was in my blind by 3:15 and I was just pumped that something was gonna show tonight and at about 5:30 I had a bird that thought my blind was a birdhouse and flew into the window and scared the **** out of me! Time kept passing and next thing I knew it was 7:00 and then the wind died down completely minus a hint of a breeze from the north and everything was completely quiet....prime time was here...said to myself "well if its gonna happen... now would be the time!"

Then it did all of a sudden when a good sized fawn poked its head out of the chest tall weeds to my left and then the whole body, next came another...it was then that I realized these were the twins on my camera earlier...thought to myself "pretty cool but where's mom?"...a few moments went by and boom she emerges and I was gonna draw on the fawn and went woah! I think I want that one LOL.

They all started eating grass and then the one fawn would not move forward to expose the does vitals and she was very edgy and I was like COME ON MOVE! Finally the fawn takes two steps forward...just to the point where its rump is covering mama's vitals yet...by this time the neighboring place is talking and doors are slamming and my cam had taken 3 pics of her and finally she took a leap towards the direction they came from and the other two followed suit!

OMG what an awesome night in the field, it is one that will stick in my mind forever..thats for sure. To be eye level with your quarry is fricken awesome to say the least.

Thanks for the Good Luck wishes...they worked!

    Congrats on the unforgettable hunt!

Most of my fondest memories are NOT holding up the head of a buck! They're moments like these. :)

Very cool story. That is something when they get that close & you can't take a shot. But seeing deer is good too.

Very true...It's nights like these that make you see how cool the MAN above really is!:)

To me a buck is a huge bonus, since I have yet to shoot one with my bow:D

I have been pondering the idea of purchasing another ground blind - have a few spots would be just about ideal but theft is my biggest concern as I have to drive 50 miles to hunt anywhere

congrats on the sightings and glad it got your blood boiling
