Hey everyone, just wanted to recap why this buck means so much to me. This, HANDS DOWN, has been the roughest trip I've had yet. First, I get out here and the deer movement was at a minimum, whether it was the moon, corn, heat...take your pick it just wasn't happening for me. Second, I had a great spot and an all day sit ruined by trespassers. Third, the one thing that gets me thru those all days sits is my PSP with texas hold 'em. I lost it... $150 value Fourth, I lost my oakleys helping a friend look for a deer... $200 value Fifth, after shooting my deer one of the locals was mad, jealous either or... called the conservation agent and said I was poaching... had a nice run in with the CA at the truck. Sixth, on the way back to the hotel I rolled up on a horrible car accident. I was supposed to leave that stuff behind me when I'm on vacation. SOOOO, when the saying goes "Its a trophy to me"... thats why this one is to me.
Once your in, it never fails to come up in the worst times, even hundreds of miles from home. Congrats again on your buck Jay, cant wait to meet up on Saturday and get the Ohio season rollin for ya.
oh yeh! I just saw it today...that's a hell of a buck!! That would erase everything bad this season for me as it should for you....that is an awesome deer and you should be proud.
I hope I'm not coming across ungreatful. I put an extrordinary amount of time and work in hunting trophy class whitetails. (I refrain from saying mature because if a 150" 2 year old walks by, he's gonna get shot). Therefor my expectations are always high. I shot a 155" last year and was probably spoiled when I did.
