My best opening day ever, plain and simple. My sons first bow season, I snapped this pic of my son just after he had a bout of Doe fever, he'll never admit it :D, but I think thats what happened! We had a Doe come in about a half hour into it, pretty cool experience for both of us! All in all, the day I waited a lifetime for! He is hooked, BIG TIME!!!!!!
Thats awesome as all hell! I am a dad of a 9yo and a set of 2yo twin boys and I am so looking forward for this day! I've been sitting on the ground with my 9yo since he was about 4 yo and he still remembers what all took place on our first hunt together
That is awsome Joe and the smile on your son's face is priceless! Congrats go out to both him and to you for introducing him to the sport, I am sure that you are one proud dad right now!
That is great !! Looking forward to reading about your boy's hunts this fall. Best of luck to him and you this year !! Tim
That's great get'em started young. My son arrow his first deer at fourteen on his first archery hunt. It was just a fork horn, but it got him hooked. Good luck to you and your son!
LOL, my son killed his first buck two years ago at 9. I'll never forget him getting buck fever....and looking at me half out of breath and asking "what's going on?" He had never in his life had an adrenaline rush like that. The look on his face was priceless. Good luck with your son, enjoy it!
What a whole new level of excitement added to bowhunting...Good luck to your boy. I know I'll be like a rookie with excitement all over again when that day comes... ...I'm guessing he'll have a pretty big cheese smile with his first kill...GOOD LUCK!
"What's going on?", thats awesome, Dom said he was almost shaking a bit too much to shoot! Like I said, I think he WAS shaking to much to shoot! :D One of the best things I ever heard, was him saying while we were on stand, "just think Dad, were going to be hunting buddies for life!" He got home and went thru his school calender and figured out every day he has a half day or off of school completely, I asked him why, he just smiled! :D
