I gonna get a new bow this summer and I think I'm going move off of the Martin ship  Still keeping my Slayers though, just want to try something new. Pretty sure it's going to be either a Strother Infinity or a New Breed Archery Genetix, not sure yet. I'm also open to other possibilities as well. Of course I'm going to go shoot all my considerations before I buy. ;)

Anyone have experience with either of these two bows? Any other suggestions on others to take a look at?

By the way it will be 27-1/2" draw length and I'll probably go down to 60#. The old shoulders will appreciate it. :D

Got rid of my martin cheetah and my slayer is still for sale. I bought the hoyt maxxis 35 and never have picked up the slayer again. I know the slayer will smoke the maxxis but the maxxis was much more user friendly. IMHO.

    Davy,
Shoot 'em all, then sort 'em out......figuratively and literally. A little different than the adage it was based off of, but I think you have to put the bows in your hands and decide what feels BEST to you, and what meshes best with you. Too bad a lot of the smaller companies don't have more availability that would allow us to try out all of their stuff alongside all the big name stuff. I know of all the stuff I've shot, the AM32 and AM35 both feel as good to me as anything, and that includes the Maxxis and Carbon Matrix I shot right alongside the AM's.

Oh I will Doug. There is two shops within 100 miles of me that carry both Strother and NBA so I'll get to shoot them side by side. Kinda been eying the AMs as well. Figured with my short draw length though I'd try to stick with something in the 340 fps range.

Bowtech destroyer 340. I shoot at 27" and 61lbs and LOVE this bow! They are pricey but your get what you pay for and this bow is worth it.

340fps is the IBO, not what he is trying to obtain

Like the others have said, shoot them all. I really like the look of the new strothers. One of the best looking bows out now IMHO. If you get a chance check out the Athens line as well, great bow

Lol! I wish there was a bow capable of that. Figured with 340 IBO bow I could get around 260 with a 450 grain arrow at my 27.5". ;)

Price point, features and how it feels.

I picked up a 2010 Bear Assault, extremely impressed - especially at the price point. I did have to play with string position, draw stop and module to get it where I wanted it, but good to go now. Actual was 1/4 inch or more above the 29 inch mod and draw stop position.

The string suppressors are great if you shoot the limbs maxed out, but if you shoot toward the lower end, a gap develops between the string and dampeners. I remedied this by adding grommets on the rods, closer to the riser, postioning behind the suppressors and securing in position with small zip ties.

The bow is quiet, fast, smooth. I like the Maxxis and others, but I couldn't justify the price difference after shooting the Assault side by side.

you should have just asked about the 2 you were interested in :). by saying your open to other suggestions, your going to get every bow under the sun. everyone thinks their bow/ brand makes the best bows and so on. shoot a bunch of different ones, weigh out the prices and get what feels right. good luck
