So I’m tossing this out to get some opinions on the matter of Border hunters or Trespassers. What one would you rather have?
You spend all spring putting in a nice food plot, or mock scrapes and come hunting season there’s a deer stand or blind on the fence facing your plot or scrapes. (Border Hunter)
Or, you simply walk to you stand and find someone sitting in it. (Trespasser)

Which one is worst in your opinion?

Id much rather a border hunter. Reason being is that trespassers suck and if I saw a border hunter I would block his view from his stand to my property. Like hay bales fallen down trees. At least they arent on your land.

Tresspasser they are on your land. The border hunter isn't doing anything illegal until he shoots at one on your property. Plus you can do more with a tresspasser legally so I would rather have a tresspasser.

Dan good thought about the hay bales I wouldn't have thought of that. I will have to keep that in mind if ever needed. Plus if I put hay bales up the cows woud all be in his way too.

EXACTLY!!!! The neighbor wouldnt be able to complain either because its your property. I would also put a no trespassing sign between his stand and the blockage and if they get moved its obvious he trespassed lol.

I have had both and I can tell you that in my opinion the tresspasser angered me more. I had not one but three guys who decided one year to specifically target my stands as thiers because they knew I put the time into scouting etc. Eventhough they were told by the land owner to not venture onto my side of the farm. They are no longer welcome to the property by the land owner, problem solved.

Border hunters is something I have had to deal with also. My solution was to approach the guy and come to a gentlemans agreement about the situation. Lucky for me he was a real nice guy. We both came to the understanding of shooting animals on our own property "no over the fence shooting", if a wounded animal crossed onto the others property we also agreed to notify each other before entering to retrieve the animal.

The situation worked out great, it is at a point now that once or twice a year he has offered to let me hunt with him on his side of the property and me on mine.

Depending on your state, shooting a deer on someone else's property without permission is poaching. My neighbor did here the first couple years and then I just started running my quad up and down the property line in the morning and evening while he was hunting. He got the point. Both are suckheads and they are equally bad.

they both blow D*** i hate them both, but at least border hunters don't trample around your land a disturb things as much a trespassers, and techniqually border hunters aren't breaking any laws, but either way they both suck, and they both can really f up a hunt, it's sad that they're are low lives out there that can't hunt there own deer and have the pride and dignity to do things the right way.

Well I've never heard of a border hunter who hasn't crossed the line. I don't mind if you hunting next to the property, but on the line facing my deer stand is a bit much. At least you can get rid of trespassers. But most of the time you don't know they are there. I pay visits to my property different days of the weeks just to show I'm unpredictable on my visits. Ive had people tell me that I have some big deer on my ground, because they kicked them up while riding 4wheelers throughout it. I'm like WTH. if I end up missing just 1 camera I'll put Sharp stakes on all the trails in my grounds. They r all sculptures to this guy. This year I'm going to hang my dirty socks up on my side of the fence right infront of his stand with a trail camera high in a tree facing the socks. This way if the guy comes over to pull the stinky socks I'll have my proof.
