What’s up with the decrease in Wisconsin’s deer population?

    Humans do not kill 500x more deer then predators. Coyotes have been here just as long as the deer and the deer numbers grew all those years so I don't think that is the cause for the sudden decrease of 65% of the deer herd in 7 years. I did not research other areas in the southern part of WI because the #'s for any CWD unit are terrible because of over hunting.In my area the hunter kill numbers do not reflect enough deer to decrease the population by 65%.

    I agree north of hwy 29. Waupaca county needs it badly. Next year will be the "holiday gun hunt" south of hwy 64 Statewide per the DTR. And the DNR will only adjust goals by the new unit boundaries with zero historical data every 5 years. Oh, I forgot statewide either sex gun tags and xbows for all....Oh I forgot, telecheck registration! Damm, my gf has become a doe killin machine for those bonus buck tags! Yipeee!
