We are up to 23 rabbits for the season with 4 doubles. Finally getting our first snow so it'll only get better from here on out.

    Wow, that is amazing.

It still looks like she is ready to deploy deadly force if you get too close to "her" rabbit!

Dave that is awesome! Love the pics. Something about falconry is just so freaking awesome!! It's cooler than a T-rex with a bazooka. :tu: I'd love to be a part of a hunt like that! Just to see the bird doing his thing must be awesome.

Wow that is amazing! What kind of work is it to get a bird of prey like that and keep them and teach them to hunt and what not?

    Thanks guys.
Greg - the vids don't even begin to do her justice. You have to see it in person to appreciate it. They crash so hard it sounds like a softball bat hitting the ground.

PT - I'll be getting out again on Xmas eve and we should have a good 6 inches to work with. I can't wait. I'll be sure to get some more pics of the days events.

Yeah Kyle - hunting with one is like nothing else I've ever done. It's something not many people get to experience. I have just as much hunting with her as I do deer hunting.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Actually they already know how to hunt - I just train them to let me hunt with them. I trapped her out of the wild on Sept 1'st and had her free flying to me in 3 weeks. We caught our first rabbit exactly one month and a day from trapping her. They traing amazingly quick. Ton get involved in falconry you mush first know or get to know a general falconer this is willing to sponsor you . It's a 2 year apprenticeship to go thru.

It just amazes me that they become so willing to hunt for you after being a wild bird. It just shouldn't be possible! Fantastic.

Do you ever worry her leather strap/bell could get caught in a tree branch crotch or anything?
