No, actually you making the post about tough guy West Virginia coal miners who are so tough they break an out of state person scar windows makes me laugh. Like they are some real tough sob's that should make us out of staters knees shake uncontrollably. Laughable at best.

This is why the map chips come in handy. They show you right where you are and the land ownership rights. Unless you already know the area is straight up public land the map chips or just mapping homework in general help decipher who owns what and where. I think if these areas are hardcore, big buck, tough to get to areas then thank you for sharing. Most people also do not consider a bow hunter as a threat... simply no reason to. I have not hunted those areas as they are to far East for my game but encourage those of you a bit closer to get your pack on. Good Luck!

Coalminers are ''not'' the problem! . . Its the dope-heads when I said ''rough people'', but I guess dope-heads are everywhere!

I'd say 80% of the coalminers bow hunt and they're the best people around! . . I worked 10 years in the coalmines and my brother was a coalminer too!

Are you from WV ? . . . Are you afraid of ''miners'' ?

@ kb1785. . I didn't know the coalmine at Miller's Creek allowed hunting, but that sounds great! . . Yes, that area always had ''big Bucks'' and had A LOT of hunting pressure!

    I ''like'' your post! :)

The ''coalminers'' would welcome people that live ''out of state'' and came to WV to bow hunt!

I agree 100% with diamond outlaw. The coal miners are not the ones to worry about, the crackheads are the ones to worry about

    Many. Very common name there.

As stated coal miners aren't a problem. They are good working people. The dope heads and pill billies that have sticky fingers are the ones to watch. I would go for it. Should be an adventure. Lots of scouting is going to be a must.

I wasn't laughing when my vehicle was robbed while I hunted in SC, even as a resident of the state.

I'd love to hunt in McDowell or Mingo Counties in WV, but I do believe the chances of having my vehicle broken into or vandalized is higher there than in other parts of the state. For exactly the reasons so many have enumerated here already. Not the good employed folks but the unemployed drug addicts who have free time to cruise, rob, as well as hunt and fish like pros.
