My uncle bought 113 acres right outside of wheeling west virgina and he invited me down for a one day hunt. He has a 14 acre wood plot on the one end of the property with a 2 acre thicket in the middle of it. He said if I wanted to I could hunt the the part of the property. He has been archery hunting the property all season but hasnt touched that section of hardwoods so Im gonna go check it out. He doesnt use trail cameras but he does alot of glassing in the summer and fall and there is one good 130 class 11 point and another really cool 14 point thats like 6 years old and has a real goofy rack and a huge 8 inch sticker/ droptine of the one base. Im really excited because i will shoot either of these deer if i get the chance. I will be taking a camera and putting it up for the day while im there just incase if something else strolls by i can tell him. So im just wanting to post this incase I do get to shoot one of these pretty cool deer. Well im gonna go finish packing and washing my clothes and hopefully when I get home tonight I will have one heck of a story for u Guys.

P.s. Sry its still not 12pm but i will be hunting Dec 7th monday so its clear to everyone. ok thanks guys and good luck to anyone else hunting.

ok well first off i shot the funny looking buck today but it broke 5 points of the right main beam. My uncle said it was like palmated with 5 points but its broke so im a little sad. field dressed at 213 and havnt been able to score it yet.

now for the story of how this one day success happened

We left my house around 2:45 am monday dec. 7th and its about a 2 1/2 hour drive to his farm. We got there made some breakfeast and he took me and we hung one of my trail cameras so he can see what deer on the farm. After that I had about a good half hour before it got light out, so I decided ill grab my bow and get up in the tree since the stand i was hunting was only about 100 yards from where we put the camera. So Its still dark out but i could just start to see (when ur eyes adjust to the dark) I had a really nice 125" 7 point at about 10 yards. He mossied around for about a half hour. Then two doe ran the bottom of the little valley behind me and he sorta followed them off. I sat there playin my little hand held poker game because i could see a good 75 yards through the open hardwoods around me. And out of the blue i catch somethin like 10 feet in front of me under the stand was this little doe she walked in a straight line down the hill towards me behind this one tree and poped out next to me and i was a little scared and i set the game on my lap and grabbed my bow just incase a buck was behind her. Well she mosied off and about a min later im sittin there the funny looking guy i shot steps out and im like woah hes cool and i stand up.( remember I put the game on my lap) well it fell off hit the platform of the hangon and then crashed into the ground and startin making the little sound it makes when the volume is on. Im like crap there goes my day. Man was I wrong that buck walked right at the game licked it and then just walked down the trail into the valley. he got to 35 yards and i drew back and i have a shot at 38 yards and when he stepped into it i gave a mouth grunt and he stopped i shot. The arrow crushed one lung and hit the liver. I thought he was broadside but i guess he was acturally quartering towards me a little. So the arrow hit he turns around runs up the hill and runs out into some standing corn and dies at about 130 yards. This is my first west virgina buck and i think hes really cool im acturally gonna go down next weekend to look for the palmated part of his rack that broke off.

AND YES I WAS WEARING ORANGE BUT I TOOK LIKE EVERYTHING OFF WHEN WE BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO THE DEER TO TAKE PICS

heres the pics from my cell phone cause i left my camera in my uncles truck.

Congrats on a very unique buck! Great story, I can't believe you dropped the game! LOL It's probably a good thing it made noise after it fell in order to get his attention or he might have looked up. I hope you find the rest of the rack.

213 pounds aint bad! Are you going to get him aged?

yea we sorta aged him but we think hes atleast 5 1/2 maybe older there was like no teeth left in his mouth but like two up front and the body is huge and the way his nose is long and the body posture of the deer just supports the fact we think hes an older deer

we went today to look for the palmated part that broke off and couldnt find it but we did find a sweet rack from last year its a huge typical 7 just the one side we think the deer is from the property next door because it was only 10 yards from the property line im guessing theres atleast 90 inches of rack to it but im not 100% sure
