I have been getting some nasty calluses on the tips of my shooting fingers. And of course my form/accuracy needs a lot of improvement, so I switched my finger grip on the draw. I went to a deeper hook close to my first joint line. I finally am able to touch the feathers to my nose and gain another anchor. The draw seems better and my form is tighter, with less room for error. So far the results of my shooting is speaking to the effectiveness of the deeper hook.

How do you all position your fingers on the string?

I use a deep hook also. Years ago I used to hold on the pads of my fingers like you and when I went to the deep hook,it was like a lightswitch turned on...the results were amazing

Deep hook is great for heavy bows. But on real light bows like a few 40lbers I have, they can be hard to master.

I've always put the string in the first groove on my fingers......works good for me and it dont make my finger-tips sore.
