Wishing the best for you. I got layed off a long time ago. It was the best thing that could have happened. The only good thing of that job... I met my wife.

Bob, like I said on the other thread, 4 months and counting for me :bash: but keep your head up. It's bound to change for guys like us at some point.

Sorry to hear about the job loss. I went through the same thing about a year and a half ago. Keep your head up, things will work out. They always do.

I know how bad it sucks. Just remember, when one door closes another will open. What is behind that newly opened door may be way better. Keep a positive attitude and stay focused on what is important in life. Good luck!

Thanks fellas, the kind words mean alot! It's a bit exciting but scary just the same.

I'm positive, we'll be ok, no matter what I got to do in the interim, we'll make it work!

Actually I'm only a couple miles from the PA Line.

That's what I was thinking, but you have to understand where Gri22ly is coming from. He's Loaded.

Sorry to hear about your luck. I'm on the unemployment line right now myself. Same deal as far as specialized work too. Not very fiscally responsible of me, but I'm kind of hoping it lasts through deer season.;)

I think we both need a job that lay's us off for deer season every year, but pay's good the rest of the year.:deer:

Gr8, I wish you the best.

We are in the same boat too. Lisa (soon to be wife) was unfortunately one of the NY teachers let go due to state funding cuts. This was supposed to be her tenure year too........now she has to start all over again with the 3 year process in another district. Only problem is that there have been literally over 1000 teachers let go in NY, so the very few jobs available are flooded with people that have more experience than her. I'm fortunate to have a good job that pays well, but it's still a difficult position for a young couple with a new house, wedding to pay for, etc...........:bash:

Keep your head up buddy, something good will come.

Working minds and working hands get noticed Bob. Keep yourself busy, stay positive, and stay strong. I have a feeling everything will work out for you.

    All the best!

Gr8, i wish you the best (seriously ;) ) That sucks. Im at one of the nations largest power plants that was second in generation last year. We are shutting down two units on some weekends because the demand for power is not out there  I have been there for 23 years and have never seen this happen. the economy blows right now.
