I am reluctantly admitting that I need a day or maybe 2 off from hunting. Since October 17th (opener of bow), I've missed one hunt due to pouring rains. My legs and body have officially had it! With all the pre season duties, bowseason and now well into gun portion (bow for me still) I am ........... WHOOPED! I got out of my truck yesterday and looked across the field and towards the pines where I was heading I chuckled to myself lol. I had to actually talk to my legs to start moving. When I returned to my truck I sat on the side of the road for about 10 minutes regaining feeling in my body. Scouting, dragging, butchering, hanging stands, etc.... all hit me like a ton of bricks! I guess I may be getting old or something. I refused to give into it until now. Havent' missed a "huntable day" as long as I can remember. I think I may do what normal people do and not hunt for a couple days. The streak is over I'm afraid. My body wont' go tonight. Thanks for listening to my pity party. Sad day in NYBH land.

Nothing wrong with that, sometimes the best medicine is a little rest both for you and your areas.. Good luck the rest of the season once you head back out.. My seasons out here have built in NO hunting right after the elk rut, 9 days and the Deer Rut, 8 days.. Its a great time for me to prep anything I need to and to rest up and get refreshed..

Putting in that kind of time on stand is admirable! If you've got the time, that's the way to go. How many all day hunts did you put in? Doing all dayers for a week or two will burn ya out! I went through that last year and still didn't kill a Pa buck.
