Not only is it a felony to threaten a government (in this case, state government) employee....it's a federal offense to threaten anyone over the internet. There's no way this idiot won't get caught.
Two things come to mind here. 1. I am sure the Republican's were prepared for threats against their lives. 2. If one of them gets killed it will take the entire countries view of Unions and kill any hope they have of support due to this bill. I highly doubt the idiot sending the email was secure enough not to get caught and they will likely get to know some Union Jail Guards soon

This is what happened in 1985 with the UMW in Ky. They had all the public support needed to sway company. Union thugs shot the truck driver and basically collapsed the UMW to what it is today.
Hayes West was killed on May 29, 1985 by a shotgun blast with shells that were only available to police and security companies. No union members that were charged were seen on the mountain that day but plenty of securty packing shotguns. Four miners were framed entirely on testimony of paid informants saying West was killed by shots from a nearby mountain. Deer Rifles! Just saying, anyone interested can look it up. It's always good to get both sides of a story.
I don't think getting into which is more evil unions, companies or people is going to solve much. They all have their skeletons.
