Many of you will remember a poll I posted in response to a discussion that occurred when I shared my story about passing up what would have been my greatest buck to date this past November, all because it was before legal shooting light.

I debated on how to write an article and actually went through many different ideas, but finally felt I could only really share my reasoning and why I didn't shoot and leave it up to everyone else to decide for themselves their actions...so here's the write up, agree or not let me know what you thought of the article itself. (be kind haha! )

It's on my blog/site so click HERE to go there.

Good read.. I say hunt in a way you can be proud of the deer you harvest. That may vary from person to person.

When you follow your convictions it's easier to live with your decisions, and you'll NEVER say "I wish I would have done that differently". Good read and well said.

Good article Ty, and even tho when that all started I was one of the ones that answered on the unpopular side I always respected your views and ability to do the things your supossed to without a second thought with all the temptation in front of you that morning in the woods. Great article and to be honest this entire season it always crossed my mind what I would do if that situation presented itself, I'd like to sit here and say I would pass but I'd be lying to myself if it wouldn't be somethig I'd struggle with.

Ty, I have been faced with that scenerio numerous times in 25 years of deer hunting. The decision I made each time is what helped mold me into the person I am today. Great writing in that blog!!

Great read Ty, I would be lying if I said I wouldn't think about taking the shot, I would hope I would do the right think and like you said, he won that day, hopefully next year you will put him on the ground. I agree as I get older its less about the harvest and more just being in the woods. Keep up the great work. Scoot

I've said it elsewhere, but good read as always. It is crazy to see so many people that would make the 'wrong' decision if faced with the same situation. I've never been put in that spot, but I am sure it causes great internal struggle.

Most certainly does...I know what I'd do again but I'd rather never be put in that position ever again.
