Well i went out this morning in one of my favorite spots and i had a nice doe come up to my stand, about 15 yards away. I drew back on her almost positive ill have meat in the freezer tonight put my pin on her and let it go..... shot high:( clean miss...After that it kinda wrecked hunt, so i stick it out till about 1:30.

What good that did come out of this however is, i got my first shot at a deer out of the way..w/o making a bad shot on her. Now i feel i wont be as tense the next time a deer comes my way....kinda wish i would have gotten her tho:o

We learn from our mistakes and experiences.

Why do you think your shot went errant? Did she drop, did you not bend at the waist?

I'm sure whatever the reason, it was exciting.

It happens. It is not unusual to shoot high out of an elevated stand for the reason(s) Rob mentioned.

The next one will be easier, you wait and see. Good luck.

Yup it happens. My first year bowhunting I shot clean over a doe's back also. Keep at it, your outlook is positive and that is good. Good luck to ya, it will happen.
