Well it was a pretty uneventful night. I sat my brother in a stand abount 100 yards away instead of in the tree with me. He didnt feel comfortable in the hang on , so i put him in a solid ladder stand that sits directly on a food plot. This was the first sit in this new property so i wasnt sure what to expect. But i no sooner than reached my platform and lhooked up my lanyard and i was staring down a 1.5 or so year old doe ? I have no idea if she was there when i climbed up or what ,but she walked off like she didnt mind me being there, what a good way to start the season!

About 20-40 minutes later a decent 6 point walked through basically on the same path as the doe. He came from nowhere as well. I just caught a glimpse of him as he was almost out of sight. Not a bad night all in all. The wind ended up pullin a switcharoo on us so i got down about 6:30 and got out of there. I went over to get my brother and found 3 dead groundhogs everywhere. I then explained to him that to see any deer you cant shoot everthing else in the woods! But for his first time out, he had a blast - he said he'd be happy sittin up there and just shootin hogs! Hopefully i can get him up in some of my hang-ons to get his first deer on film. To be Continued..................
