I did manage 25+ pan fish while jigging and one pike on tip ups.
Frog_Slayer aka my son cole having a little fun in the snow. What a diehard he is for sure.

Dan this pic is for you with no shanty catching a pike jigging with 2 or 4lb test.

As for frog_slayer well he ended up in the shanty.

Even though we had high winds and plenty of snow it was a great time here in Wisconsin
    yesterday and today.

    Talking to this Dan?

Looks like an awesome day bud. I went out on Tuesday, it it was a little slow. Lots of small gills and crappies.

I'm supposed to go to Canada March 3-10 for some wolf hunting and ice fishing. We have a lake that we catch walleyes like panfish in 6' of water, most only 14"-17". We have another lake that we caught a bunch of 12"-13" perch and walleyes up to 24" last winter.....all in 5-6' of water. We know there's bigger eyes in there too!

Keep the pictures coming bud and its great to see you out there with the kids!

Yeah I think you gave me some good ol fun chit about using a shanty awhile back.
    L Dukay also did.
Damn those perch got to be so good to eat this time of year with that nice cold water.

Hey be sure to shoot some pics my way especially of the wolves.

Me? Nooooo, I would never do that. :deer:

Will definately post up some pics, if I get to go. Hopefully we can whack a few wolves, they are destroying the deer herd up there his winter, according to my warden. There was some rain last week and made a nice crust on the snow for them to run across. Bye Bye deer! :bash:

They are awesome eating in the winter. There's a bunch of fresh water shrimp in the backwaters of the river we fish and it gets loaded with fish in there. Catch everything on 1/8 oz jigs and minnows. Biggest pike was only 34", but there has to be bigger in there as well. We just found that spot last winter.

Here's the biggest walleye my buddy caught....

Sorry Ferg, my rule up there is absolutely no walleyes over 18" may be kept from my lake or if you're fishing with me.

Because the growing season is so short that far north we have to protect the female fish.

That is one pretty fish it would be hard for me to keep something like that.
18" is a great idea and great for eating.

I have absolutly no problem with that. Every lake is different and I have many lakes that I won't keep fish from because of that reason and others that I have self made policies just like that!

I didn't think you would bud. Up there, in Ontario, female walleyes start spawning when they are about 18" and it takes them aproximately 7 years to reach that length. Now, a fish that size in a lake around here in WI would probably be around 3 years old.

I pretty much control the access to the lake my camp sits on, so I look at the fish as my business partners.

That is the same couple that was at my place. They are both good friends of mine and live near Peak so they have a bunch of time to fish together!

Just got the story about the rest of the fishing day from my buddy Alen in the first pictures. How can you not tell us about him catching a sea gull with his jigging rod Peak? He is sending me the pictures soon. Sounded like it was funny as hell!
