Tore up the town last night! Thank goodness for cabs! My head is throbbing right now. We went to the flying saucer and a newer place called the belfry. Both seemed to have plenty I wanted to try, prices were wayyyyy inflated, but I found each beer to be worth it

I dont visit this thread often "mostly cuz im not 21" but when i do, i see so many good lookin and not very common beers. Now dont think im going to be that teenager who sneaks out at night with a 6 pack of buds but my step-dad lets me try a sip of any new beer he gets. The alchahol part still isnt the best taste but the acual beer part tasts good or bad depending on the kind. Anywho it leads me to wonder where all of you guys get these "uncomon" beers. They look pretty good. Is it like a state thing or are some of them all over the u.s. Thanks

You find the "uncommon" beers at specialty beer shops or liquor stores. You are not going to find them at the gas station on the corner. Also some of them have national distribution, and other have a very limited distribution. I like doing beer trades to try beers that I cannot get in LA.

I've got the sour bug hard right now! It's a great change of pace from pales and stouts. I should have started appreciating them long ago. That nightmare on Brett from crooked stave was one of the most complex and flavorful beers I've ever had. I absolutely savored every last drop!

Drinking my second grapefruit slam now. I wish I would've had it sooner as the hops have already began to fade.

You guys ever end up with a wrecked palate before? I had a pretty extensive weekend of some hoppy and sour beers. I cracked a Tasmanian IPA yesterday and it tasted bland to me. Same with free state cloud hopper, and green flash palate wrecker. Do any of your tastes buds ever do this? I'm thinking of laying low on the craft beers for a while and focusing on my wine and single malts for a while

I've never had that happen before but I've only had like two sours since I started drinking craft beer. I can definitely see how it could happen though mixed with really hoppy beers.

Just during the same night, I always drink lightest to heaviest for that reason. I've never had it carry over to the next day though.

Wicked Weed is doing a statewide bottle release of these two beers and my local bottleshop is getting some. Hoping to get one of each on Saturday.

They're also getting their cherry sour as well and I'll hopefully get my 4 bottle limit.
