I'm really happy with it now. Brewday was right after Thanksgiving, and I first tasted it about 2.5 weeks ago (wasn't happy), and it had only been bottled about a week. In the 2.5 weeks since, it's really making a great improvement in the bottle. Already enjoyable to drink, really happy with how it came out and looking forward to see how it continues to condition.

That is pretty cool. Some day, I would love to try brewing. Congrats on your success!

Yea one of the favorite things about home brewing is tasting the differences over time. That's probably a bigger. Wee and will probably keep getting better. Put a couple in the fridge and let them cold condition for a few weeks. That will really help too.

It's pretty easy to get started if you're doing extract kits like I am. I'll give it a year or so before I start experimenting with mu own stuff.

I recently did my first all grain batch and mashed in a 5 gallon Home Depot cooler. You can do about 12 lbs of grain and if I need to I add a little extra extract to bring gravity up. Super cheap way and quality of beer tastes way better to me.

All grain brings the quality of your homebrew to a whole new level. Plus it's a lot more fun trying your own recipes.

Tried a couple solid beers over the weekend. The jolly pumpkin oro de calebaza was awesome and probably my favorite overall of what I sampled! I know Sophie gets mentioned on here a lot, but the ODC blows Sophie away in that category of beer.

Also, the cloud hopper imperial pale by freestate was a nice surprise. I usually don't expect a lot from them, but cloud hopper was very good. I preferred it over the schafly Tasmanian.

Another good one I tried was the palate wrecker by green flash. It's a huge pale, and there's no false advertisement in the name.

In the category of big pales I also picked up some boulevard mid coast IPA from the breweries tasting room. It's an experimental batch they bottled for retail at the brewery and I loved it. I'm hoping they add it the regular lineup or at least make it a special release in the smokestack series. 104 IBU's of hoppy goodness.

Lastly, after all the hype and fighting crowds and getting up early to find some before it sold out here was boulevard chocolate ale. I was skeptical because it was an ale and not a stout but people here go crazy for it so I had to test it out. HORRIBLE!!!! I'm actually looking to unload my remaining bottles on some poor jack who actually has a flavor for the stuff. If I'm going to drink a bad beer I'd rather it be a cheap bad beer and not a 12$ per bottle bad beer.

I got a few Mid Coast IPA's in a boulevard samplers I got from Walmart no less.

I thought it was delicious as well. You can go onto their website and vote for it to be a year round beer. I hope so especially considering I can pick up any Boulevard beer for $7 a six pack most of the time.

That looks glorious! Usually when I sip from the jar it's got a little bit of lightning in it.

My jars get lonely in the off season, I may have to adapt this technique for craft brews.

Had my first experience with prairie artisan ales tonight. This particular brew called "American style IPA" was a collaboration between prairie and my homeboy mikkeller. The nose was full of grapefruit, the first hit on the tongue was funky and crisp, and finished smooth with subtle hoppyness. I'm going to try to find another bottle to age, but this was the last available at my store and the limit was a one bottle per customer. I'm glad I got to try it and am looking forward to trying more by prairie.

I like Rampant. I think its a pretty decent beer for the money. I usually have some on hand. Love the mason jar idea too.
