Thanks got the beers Hook. Looks like the Pumpkinator may have froze and had a small leak, I'll try drinking it tonight and see if I can salvage it.

How long should I plan on aging the Grand Reserve?

I was worried about the Pumpkinator. A lot of people have been having issues with them. Apparently they did not cap them properly. People have had the tops pop off just sitting on a shelf.

As for aging the GR, you can age it however long you like. I have 2 bottles that I'm aging. Will drink 1 next year, and aging one 5 years for a vertical tasting.

And the non labeled bottle is my homebrew  It turned out ok.

It is really carbonated, so be careful with the pour.

The Punpkinator must have just popped today because it was absolutely salvageable and tastes great. Can't wait to try the home brew too. After the way my weekend ice fishing went(light on the fishing heavy on the alcohol) I wasn't planning on drinking until next weekend, but this one has me questioning my habits.

I keep all my beers that I want to age at my dads house. Out if sight and out of reach.

That was one of my 2012's. I like the Burton's with a little age in it. Let me know when you try the 2010 worldwide stout. I want to know what you think.

This was my first Burton Baton and I really liked it. I may need to try a fresh one to compare the taste, but I can definitely see where aging this kind of beer can pay off.

Brandon, regarding your Hop Drop N Roll question, this one was quite hoppy, really heavy on the piney floral notes I thought.

My wife surprised me with a solid haul after I got out of work today. I'm a big fan of the double jack and java stout from previous endeavors. The SKA ESB is new for me as is the mothers brewing co MILF imperial stout.

I drank the milf and ESB this evening and they were both excellent! I'm not a huge barrel aged guy, but the milf was aged in bourbon, rum, and sherry barrels and brewed with chocolate. The flavor was great with heavy alcohol notes, then bitter chocolate, and finished with a smooth subtle sweetness from the sherry.

I have the SKA in my fridge now and have never tried it yet. Sounds like I wont be disappointed. Thanks for the report. I would agree that your wife is a keeper for sure.

She's a keeper no doubt! Never thought I'd find a woman that bowhunts, bass fishes, and loves craft beer like I do. I really am blessed!

As for the ESB I enjoyed it a lot. It's not overly bitter, there's some nice hop flavor in there, and it goes down so so so smooth. It's as if there's no carbonation to it at all. I got a lot of caramel and honey flavor while drinking it last night. Cheers, enjoy!

Some brews that I have tried this past week. [IMG]

I am a fan of the Flying Dog as it is a very strong IPA and I haven't found an IPA that is too hoppy for me. The OmmeGang Abbey Ale was decent but not something I would want again. The Brooklyn Sorachi Ace was amazing!
