Nope, never had Heady, just aware of it's reputation as one of the best beers in the world.

So, as I'm not a huge hop head, I'm generally not a fan of the lingering hop bitterness in most IPAs and DIPAs, but Heady Topper is very hop forward, and the finish is nice and clean. Not overbearing hop bitterness. Clean and dry.

But the best part is the aroma. Holy hell, the aroma hits you as you crack the can. Just fillls the room with beautiful hop aroma. This is an excellent beer. Best beer in the world? Eh, I enjoy the complexity of sours more, but this is certainly the best IPA/DIPA I've ever had.

I'd have to agree, the aroma is what made the beer for me. I'm more of a hefeweissbier guy myself, so hops are not usually something I go for. I don't know if you poured any into a glass, but when I did I found the aroma was much more enjoyable from the can, probably since it's more concentrated through the small opening. I'd easily say it was the best IPA I've had as I normally don't enjoy them as much, but I'll take my Weihenstephaner over any beer any day of the week.

This beer is 18-21% alc. and you can age it like wine. I have 2 bottles from 2010 and 2 bottles from 2011 and 18 from dec 2012. which i will keep 2 and start to age.

    Congrats on the 120.

I'd drink Heady 100 out of 100 times over the 120 though.

Yes it is can only, and only available in Vermont. Widely considered to be the best IIPA in the world.

I don't consider anything with "light" in its name to be "beer" :P

Thats like saying anybody who doesnt own a Ferrari isnt driving a car...

Or anything played on mainstream top 40 radio isnt music...

Dont get me wrong, ive learned to enjoy good microbrews, but they will never hold a candle to good ol' cheap light beer in America!

That's because comparing the two is like comparing rifle hunting to hunting with a homemade recurve and cedar shafts. The two just dont compare. Light, cheap, American beer, really is not beer at all. It is mostly water with a little skunky after-taste, or no taste at all. That's why it has to be drank ice-cold. The cold kills the smell and also helps cover the nasty taste. I'm happy for you that you like it, but dont confuse it with beer. lol
