I actually have no problem drinking it!

I drink any and all beer... No matter how cheap it is. Old Milwaukee... No problem!

Don't get me wrong, I love me a good draft beer, but have no problems with the cheap stuff.

Coors Light should never be confused with beer. Just drink your dishwater and save a few bucks.

Coors Light was a premium beer when I was in college. We enjoed countless 30's of Busch Light @ $15 per thirty.

Yeah I can't hate on any college students drinking cheap beer. I was there once.

Just doing my best impersonation of a beer snob. Believe me, I drank anything I could afford when I was in college. That now seems like a lifetime ago. Tomorrow I leave for Boulder and Denver where I will commit an assault on my liver with GOOD craft beers.

If you have time, go to The Source in Denver. Just a fantastic place to spend an evening. Crooked Stave taproom, restaurants, wine shop, cheese shop, butcher shop, etc, all in the same building. Just a cool place.

    The Source

Luckyy! There are some rumors going around that they're going to start distributing in NC in 2014 but it will probably only be Jai Alai... which I'm perfectly fine with! Also rumors of Surly and Westbrook coming to NC in 2014 as well so it could be a good year!

Jai Alai is fantastic. Really nice IPA.

And Surly Abrasive is right up there with the best DIPA out there. I put it right up there with Heady.

I need to get my hands on some Westbrook stuff as well. Heard a lot of good things about them.

Had a nice lunch with my wifey on our day off today. We live close to the Westport district of KC which has a great beer scene. We ate at a place called the beer kitchen. They offer close to 80 different bottled beers and 8 choices on tap. The food is great and they do a nice job of putting gourmet flavors into typical comfort/pub food. It was a cold and dreary day in the city so we opted for tank 7 cheddar soup and some good beer. Tank 7 is a farmhouse ale made by boulevard brewery here in KC. It was a really nice ingredient added to plain old cheddar soup. The beer I tried pictured on the right is Odell's mountain standard double black IPA. The beer my wife chose from the tap list pictured on the left is happy camper IPA by Santa Fe brewery. I'm a sucker for black IPAs and thoroughly enjoyed this one. At 9.5 ABV it was surprisingly smooth and incorporated a nice balance of crisp hoppiness and dark roasted malts. The happy camper my wife tried was also a good beer. I'd consider it a very clean tasting pale. Not overly bitter, hoppy, or malty, but still had a great nose and went down nicely.

Nice score on the BCBS. I was surprised at how smooth it is with being 15% abv. I still haven't had any of the bruery stuff outside of oude tart and it was definitely a little too tart for my liking.

Good stuff jeff, if you get a chance, try the Santa Fe Java Stout. It's one of my favorite coffee stouts. And yeah, Tank 7 is the gold standard for American farmhouse ales.
