It has a drink after 8/16/14 date on the bottle. At $15 a bottle, I'm just too cheap to but another bottle to age. Maybe next year.

Here is my Sunday sipper. Death Imperial Stout from Backlash Beer Company. It's malty, chocolate isn't overpowering, and delicious.

Right now I'm having a Schlafly's TIPA. When I was in IL I picked up a 6 pack of that and their coffee stout. It's definitely an interesting hop... a little different but I like it.

Looks like a lot of good beers at the tasting Hook. I noticed a few of those bottles were wax dipped. I had a few of those over the Christmas holiday and I must say that while it looks cool, it's a pain in the *** haha. I guess when I want my beer, I want my beer rather than having to cut around the wax to try to get the cap taken off. If they're going to dip them they need to have a tab or something to help peel it.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the wax sealing, but it is used for bottles that can be aged for years, just to help keep the seal. I wish I could remember all the beers we tried, and how they actually tasted  It was a really cool thing to be apart of, and we got to try some the breweries yet to be released beers, one of them wasn't even carbonated yet.

I was pretty toasted about half way through. After they filmed our segment, they were filming a segment on the slow food movement in the area with some chef, and I'm pretty sure I ruined the shot by vomiting in the background...

It was a rough night. Been quite awhile since I got that drunk.

Yeah everything is cool. Already talked to them about having another bottle share. I'll just take it a bit easier next time. All those high ABV% beers will catch up to you quick.

I know all too well. I organized something similar at our fishing camp over the summer. Waking up the next morning I just had one of those 'Ahh f***, not again' types of moments.

    Question fellas:

I see a few of you make beer shipments to each other. How do you do it, and what are the prices like?

I've tried shipping liquor and wine before through the local post office and they told me I can't ship booze through the mail.

We use FedEx or UPS. Pack the crap out of everything and double bag it all with trashbags. Prices are usually around $15 for a box being shipped ground.

You are not supposed to ship alcohol, so if they damage the goods, they will not refund you for anything.

Southern tier choklat. 10% ABV and is now one of my favorite stouts ever

Southern tier unearthly imperial IPA. A solid pale, a bit malty for my liking, but a good beer no doubt. 9.5 ABV

Stone vanilla bean smoked porter. My least favorite of the stone brews I've tried. Not a great porter, not much vanilla. This will be a one and done purchase for me.

New Belgium lips of faith series wild dubbel. I've always been a new Belgium fan, this beer was excellent. I'll be looking for some more of this dubbel.
