    Having my first American brown homebrew from a recent batch. This was my first recipe from scratch and it turned out pretty good. I was going for a hoppy brown but I need to up the late additions to get it where I want. As it is it's very tasty but a tad malty.

    I'm trying to branch out here fellas! I've tried a few bourbon barrel beers in the past but did not like them one bit. Well I decided to give em a try one more time. I was able to pick up this limited release from boulevard brewery here in KC. It's a bourbon barrel stout and comes in at 11.8 ABV. It was awesome and flavorful, but this is definitely a heavy and filling beer. I was able to finish the bottle watching some Sunday football, but by the end I was pretty tipsy. I scored 2 bottles and have set one back to age for a while. I'm also going to try and pick up a few more bottles to set back.

    Buddy picked me up a bottle of Deschutes The Abyss Imperial Stout tonight. Don't know whether to drink it or cellar it until next year?!:confused:

    Cellaring it would be hard for me....that one is on my list......

    I finally finished my kegerator and am stoked......even better I was on my way to pick up the cases of pumking and got a call from my beer guy saying he would have me a keg of it tomorrow.....no need for the cases....super crazy considering its January.....cant wait

    Anyone had a Blue Heron Pale Ale by Mendocino Brewing Company out of Saratoga Springs, NY? Received a 6 pack over the holidays and it isn't bad (for a free 6 pack anyway)...

    I have still been sticking to my Budweiser, but I have been picking up a 6 pack of Shiner Black Lager every now and then. I really need to expand my beer consumption....

    Anyone tried the Fresh Hop IPA from New Belgium? Comes in quart sized bottles… it may be my current favorite.
