I enjoyed the Firestone Walker. I'll have to try and get Double Jack next time I'm in IL to see how it is. What do you think of the Jam Session? I thought it was pretty good for a pale ale as far as still having a nice light hop taste. Did you get a chance to try the Hop, Drop, and Roll yet?

First growler fill with Thirsty Dog Citra Dog IPA. Not too bad... when I was in the store I tried out The Bruery's Oude Tart. Not really my style of beer for my tastes but might be something you have to acquire a taste for haha. I don't know if you still have an expedition stout and cream stout hooker, but if you do try mixing them... it's really good and supposedly the basis for Bell's Black Note minus the barrel aging.

Picked up a 6 pack of this today. Pretty good at a reasonable price point.

Pick up this today one of my favorite winter beers. Nice white ale and not as filling as some of other holiday selections. [IMG]

Lots of spice. Not my favorite, but definitely drinkable on this cold, wet night.

Southern Tier hasn't thrilled me at all...they had one stout about this time last year...everything about it was pretty good except it was headless. Think I sent one down to Hooker.
2XMas was getting raved about...one friend of mine called it "Christmas in a bottle".......It sucked. I couldn't finish either bottle that I opened.

I thought the 2xMas was pretty good, kinda simialr to the Pumpking. I tried the Krampus this past weekend while brewing our new winter ale, a little two hoppy for me.

Hey fellas, I find myself in a beer predicament.

My wife's favorite beer is La Folie by New Belgium brewery in Fort Collins, CO. We missed the shipment to a few local stores in the Kansas City area and now cannot find it anywhere. Is it readily available to any of you? I'd be willing to pay the price of the bottle plus 50% and shipping.

I hope someone out there can help, thanks guys!

Hmmm I don't think there are any for bottles of La Folie around here anymore. You might have to call some beer stores around Denver.

However, I might be able to recommend similar beers if you are interested? I consider myself the resident sour expert.

There may still be some hanging around here. I can take a look tomorrow night when I get off work and let you know.

I would love some recommendations! Sours are not something I pursue often and am therefore very uneducated on what's out there. I appreciate any insight hooker!

Well it's going to be kinda hard since I'm not quite sure what is distributed to Kansas, but Cuvee Des Jacobins Rouge should be easy to find, and is a similar style. Any Flanders Reds will be similiar.

A few other in the Flanders Red style:
    Rodenbach Grand Cru
    The Bruery Oude Tart

    A few American Wild Ales:
    Jolly Pumpkin La Roja
    Goose Island Lolita or Juliet
    Prairie Somewhere

Also check out any Berliner Weisse, as it is a very good introductory style to sours.
